"cunt" in aussie means "mate" in any other language, i mean the word "nigga" is all over rap music which most players listen to and no one including black people find it offensive nowadays, yet people are literally getting muted for a week for "Racism", seems a little over the top to me.

Muting for the word "faggot" is fucking retarded, it is literally not offensive to anyone and you mute for "Homophobic slurs" just because of a single meaning of the word.
Are you "everyone"? Have you talked to "everyone"? Have you asked "everyone" if they're okay with being called an undoubtedly racial slur?
From what I'm getting, "everyone" in your terms mean people who you've talked to so far. You haven't talked to everyone in this world so stop generalizing everyone as 'okay' with being called a racial slur.
Yes, people get muted for racism. Our goal isn't to let racist players harass other people without getting punished. They need to get what they truly deserve. If you label someone as probably one of the worst kinds of words for discrimination for the color of their skin, don't expect us to be lenient on that.
Whoever you're talking to online, you don't always truly know who's behind the computer. If you don't know them, don't discriminate them for no apparent valid reason. We have 0 tolerance for racism and you can't argue that the 'n' word isn't racist or could be interpreted as racist to
someone. Be smart and don't say it in the first place.

If you're going to mute for "faggot" for being homophobic then how about you mute "bitch" or "slut"

We mute usually based on context. That goes for inappropriate IGN's, phrases with swear words, death wishes etc. What you said was directed towards someone or something and had a clear type of context to it to fully understand, which ultimately lead to a valid mute. You definitely didn't need to put the last word in. Or anything in general.

considering the new mute system where people are literally getting muted for a week and in some cases a month just for saying a non-offensive word.
Because they scale firstly. We're not letting you be punished for the same exact time period each time you break the same rule. The new mute system should knock some sense into repeating offenders to stop doing the same thing unless you want a longer punishment because you never learnt a thing from the previous one.
