Hey everyone.
So upon seeing the recent announcement regarding Season 13, many of us Asian players are really excited for Badlion Asia. However, some of us have concerns as to where BL Asia might be hosted. This is just a suggestion I'd like to bring forward.

For a handful of us, we feel that it would be most logical and in the best interests of Badlion to host the Asia server, in either Japan or Singapore. The reasons are as follows :



SINGAPORE

1. Singapore is known to have one of the best, if not the best connection speeds around the world. They are ranked 1st in terms of connection speed according to sources.

2. I happen to know some of the connection speeds users in countries in Asia get to Singapore-hosted servers, because I have experience moderating a Singapore-hosted server(Host - MCPH). This information is from players' feedback.

Ping wise

Singapore : 1-50 (I live in Singapore so I know)
Malaysia : 20-60
Hong Kong : 50-100
Indonesia : 20-80
Japan : 100+-
Phillipines : 70-150(coz the internet in Phillipines is so spiky)
As you can see most countries get roughly the same ping to a Singapore-hosted server, and so there are lower chances of players having a ping advantage.

3. From what I've seen, Singapore + Malaysia(considering they get nearly the same ping, I put them together) makes up about 40% of the community, which is a rather large
percentage of all Asian players.



JAPAN

1. Japan comprises of most of the players from Asia. This can be seen already from the massive amount of teams and Japanese tryhards on MCSG who ruin the game daily. Some of the names include - takyu, kousuke, kouki, takeda, ukisuto, manda123, yuuta____, and you get the what I'm trying to say. Nonetheless, they make up 60%+, a huge percentage of the Asian community, and so it is also important to cater to the needs of Japanese players.

2. Japan also has one of the best connection speeds, and their ranked at 4th according to sources.

3. There is a Japanese-hosted server I currently play on, but because I'm too scared of getting banned for "advertising", I will not mention the IP in this post. Connection speeds(feedback from players) :


Ping Wise

Japan : 30-60(probably)
Singapore : 70-120(I live in Singapore so I know, and yes, Internet here is amazing so we get good ping still)
Malaysia : 140+-
Hong Kong : 100-150
Indonesia : 80-140
Phillipines : 100-200(much Spike)
As you can see, the Japanese players here have a considerable advantage over some Asian players, in some cases Asian players even get 4 bars, which is not ideal(In my opinion).


In conclusion, even though hosting a server in Singapore reduces the chances of players having a considerable ping advantage as compared to Japan, Japan has an extremely large player base as you can see from the tryhards on MCGamer. Hence, I believe Badlion needs to find a compromise between the two, and hopefully make the best decision for the server itself and the players in it. Thanks for your time everyone. Correction

Indonesia to Singapore = 20-80ms

Indonesia to Japan = 90-140 ms

Both would be enough for me. In my opinion, below 100ms is already good enough for asian players
And I cant wait for the asia proxy :D

+1SG, I believe japaneses get 80-90 ping to singapore since their internet is good(mine is very bad and I get 75 to syuu from malaysia)
I also used to get around 10 ping to thr old singapore pvp server(u know what server it is)

There's one more thing to admit doe, japan have over 150 players who are active leaving singapore with only 70 players
