why don't we do this anymore?

So I just remembered that in the first judgement days, what we did is that we gave people a chance to admit to cheating BEFORE the bans, and if they admitted to cheating they recieved a shortened ban. However, if people didn't admit and got banned, they had a permanant ban which they could appeal but they would still have to wait a longer time to be unbanned than the people who admitted.I honestly think that this should be re-implemented because it would catch out many of the cheaters that GCheat missed.

I agree with this totally. It gives people a chance to change.+1

Chance to change? Referring to the first JD where people actually could admit and get out of it, no one posted in that thread and admitted to hacking because they wanted to change. They did it to get out of a ban.
As to the idea of allowing people to do this again: cheaters do not deserve a way out of being banned. This game and GCheat have been out long enough where people know not to cheat, they know they are ruining the game and breaking the rules, and they do not care. It wasn't a shortened ban in the original JD, it was a 1 second ban, basically didn't affect anyone at all unless they got banned again later on.

Well I meant we could still give them a ban but not as long as for the people who got banned and appealed afterwards

No, cheating bans should be harsher than they are (if they appeal)
