Assuming that this isn't a meme, here's my input.Aim, aim, aim, aim. Aim. Most important part of any minecraft pvp. Once you have your aim down, your playstyle will follow.
As for your playstyle, don't try and do what popular youtubers do. Experiment and find what works for yourself. You might think that all good pvpers play super aggressive, forwards potting and aggressive pearling, but quite the contrary. Believe it or not, a lot of really good players are very passive and know how to play it right.
Here's where it splits:

Disclaimer: I am not that great at agro, so there might be more to the playstyle that I can't name.
When playing agro, it is most important to never let your opponent get comfortable. You should take everything in swing, from missed pots to missed pearls, just shake it off and keep going. It is very important that you are quick and that you time everything precisely. It isn't as important to pot conserve in this gamemode; however, it would be smart.
How to counteract Passive players:
Try to knock them off their pots, get them in a 1.7 while they're on cooldown - basically just force them into making mistakes.

I reached 21 on the Kohi NoDebuff leaderboards last season - before it merged with Badlion. I reached 1900 elo, and all of it was by playing passive.
When playing passive, it is most important to never let your opponent pressure into moves, but rather allow them to think they have control.
You should be comfortable with waiting on your opponent, as you can spend that time regenning.
It is a good idea to rarely pearl while play aggressive, and instead saving them to get out of combos, 1.7s, or sticky situations.
Staying at full hunger is VERY important, otherwise the time you spend away from your opponent is wasted time.
Pot speed at 20 seconds or less, otherwise you will run out. (only applicable if you bring 3 speeds)
Try to go 'hit for hit' with your opponent - but don't go pot for pot. Focus on getting that one extra hit that forces them to pot before you, meaning that you can either:
spacerA. If you're higher than ~7ish hearts, go for a 1 or 2 hit 1.7 before backing off to regen / pot (if they hit you), or…
spacerB. If you notice that you're either too far or too low on health to 1.7, immediately turn to pot as to prevent getting 1.7'd. This spacer is where being fast can help a lot. If you do get stuck in a 1.7, take it in stride and either force them to pot (if they're low) or
spacer pearl outta there.
A good idea is to watch your hearts, and if you get lower than 6 (4 down or 1 pot to full), then pot or make the earlier decision.
Avoid getting 1.7'd at all costs. Before healing, make sure that your opponent is either too far away to hit you, or that they are otherwise occupied. Obviously if you're very low, do what you need to do. But again, try to make your own moves instead of letting them force you into them.
Sprint resets are very important to knock a player away (before potting**). There should be very few times that you don't either blockhit or W tap. (Basically the only time you shouldn't is when 1.7ing)
How to counteract agro players:
Keep a cool head and don't waste pots.
Remember the power of pearls.
Don't let them bully you into making stupid moves, think everything out beforehand.

… and even then, there are the playstyles in between - agro when it suits them best, passive when they see fit. That's where I believe the true 'good' players lie.

All I would add is that high CPS also helps along with a+d spam, wtapping and timed blockhits (spamming blockhits rarely works unless you are in a tight space/in close range of the opponent)
