How 2 make an rp?
I've been looking for a while and every video I find is outdated or too up to date (trying to find one for 1.7.10). I have a Mac too so it's literally impossible to find a tutorial where it works and I can understand what the person is saying.

Download a resource pack (for the template) and remove/add textures you want.

It's windows only.
For @RealBlobRobber I would advise Gimp (complex but advanced tools with gradients and overall a good tool) or paintbrush for a more simplistic design if you want basic textures.

@Bain

I have a Mac as well and have some experience creating/editing textures.

I recommend using a combination of Gimp and Pinta (paint.net-like clone for Mac OS X).

Some things like creating swords and drawing pixels are easier in Pinta while other things like scaling and working with different elements of the gui (pasting in crosshair from one icons to another, for example) are easier in Gimp.

Hope this helps.

Pinta: https://pinta-project.com/pintaproject/pinta/

Gimp: https://www.gimp.org

Note: Part of the reason for using Pinta when starting is that a lot of tutorials are for paint.net and Pinta is similar in functionality and interface. Paint.net is an incredibly powerful tool and I've tried creating a wrapper to "Port" it to Mac but unfortunately failed. For now, Pinta is the best alternative.
