Maybe save up a bit more money, I feel like with a $550-$600 budget you could get much more performance.
I'll cook up a build later, just tag me again.

Like Cavasi said, save up more. It would be the most beneficial if you wait a bit more and save some more money to get a really good budget build. Also, do you plan on just playing Minecraft or other games?

I bought my PC for 400$ at Best Buy and it runs mc at like 70 with like 32 chunks and like 150 fps average. CSGO for me is laggy but tf2 and GMod works fine, just felt like putting it out there

http://pcpartpicker.com/list/3NfCbj Here's my take.

i5 6500 is great, and the r9 380 is fantastic as well. This build wll run games very well, I just built my friend a pc the other day with a 380 and its beautiful.

If you ever plan on overclocking, get the motherboard I provided in the part list. If not: http://pcpartpicker.com/product/NdmxFT/msi-motherboard-b150pcmate

Oh also, you will need a Windows key, I got my Windows 8.1 Key Here for $20 and then upgraded free to Win10, however you have to do this before July 29th, or else it won't be free.

How'd you learn all this

http://reddit.com/r/buildapc for learning what parts for what budget. Google helps too:

"i5 [processor] vs i5 [processor]" shows benchmarks
"[gpu] vs [gpu]" shows gpu benchmarks and how each compare.
When I put a build together, I always look up the CPU/GPU combo on youtube to see how they perform.

this is the exact video that taught me last year

Probably super late on this one (didn't check my mentions woops) but after reading this thread, I want to add a bit more on what Cavasi said.

1 - Building a PC is VERY easy. If you are like me who didn't bother to watch any PC building videos and lack common sense, it will take 5 hours. However, if you research how to build and consult the manual, I can't see it take more than 3 hours at most. Normally, it will take 1-2 hours.

2 - There are many places to learn about PC building. Like Cavasi said, your best bet would be /r/BuildaPC. Other online forums, subreddits, and videos. can also help. d redirect you to /r/BuildaPC. Even a simple Google search can help a lot. YouTube videos from LinusTechTips, TekSyndicate, JayzTwoCents, and other people can also be super helpful and can provide a visual guide.

2.5 - Don't be afraid to ask questions! We all started without any knowledge on PC building. A HUGE majority of PC builders are always willing to help, even for the simplest questions. If someone isn't available to answer your questions, Google and the YouTubers mentioned above can be super helpful.

3 - If a 3 year old, a 5 year old, a 7 year, a 9 year old, and 70 year olds can build a PC, you can too! It's never too late or too early to start building!

4 - You can find great deals on PC parts from places like /r/BuildaPCSales and just scavenging around. PCPartPicker can also help find deals, compare prices, and make sure everything in your build is compatible. Craigslist can also be helpful here, though make sure you get what you need and make sure it is what was advertised.

Hope you have fun and if you have any questions, ask me, Cavasi, Google, etc. etc. We will be willing to help :P

source: me, reddit, google (I currently am running an FX-6300, GTX 650 Ti Boost, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, etc. Total price for my parts were around $300)
