OverviewFirst of all, this thread is for NA and NAW players only. Unless you connect to a different proxy and think this is a really good idea, just stay out of it and don't post here. I want to give you a story of the west coast player, some is my point of view. As a west player, i get really good ping to the servers in LA. This is not a problem and I think this is good but here is why west players want change. To be honest, east is overused and I think west servers are overlooked a bit. There is no way that everyone is going to read this post, so there is no point in coaxing them to use the west servers. I get about 120 ping to east and this has hindered me from getting high elo and its extremely hard to get elo on west servers. This is the west player point of view and here is a solution I want.
My Solution
I have found a solution to this problem we west coast players have and I think this would also benefit east players. This would put the servers of the NA and NAW into one NA server. This server would be near the center of the United States (but more north for Canada players) so that all NA players could have one centralized ping.
List of Cities the Server Could Be Hosted In
Lebanon, KS, USA (closest city to the center of US)
Kansas City, MO, USA
St. Louis, MO, USA
Omaha, NE, USA (my personal favorite)
Lincoln, NE, USA
Des Moines, IA, USA
Topeka, KS, USA

Benefits for NA Players
Reduced Centralized Ping
More players in Arena PvP servers
More players in Practice servers
More people able to play Mini UHC
More people able to play SG
More UHC games hosted in NA (important because of new regions added)
Benefits for NAW Players
Reduced Centralized Ping
Able to play Arena PvP with more people
Finally able to get global elo
Able to play Practice with more people
Able to play Mini UHCs
Able to play SGs
More UHCs hosted in region
Benefits for Staff
Less servers to take care of
Less regions to take care of
Less server crashes
Less people complaining about ping (like that Insanecuber guy)

I would like to know what you guys think about this idea of a centralized ping. I know it would be hard to implement, but it would give players better ping and bring NA and NAW players together. I would like to know what you guys think about this idea or if you have a better solution. If you like it, what city should it be hosted in? Thanks for all your time you spent reading this.

I think centralized servers will be good but eu people sometimes play na and will increase their ping but other than that I see no issues. I think it should be hosted closest to the center of the us as they can get so everybody gets roughly the same ping.Posted on 11 July 2016 - 01:50 PM

Would +1 it, well lebanon, kansas is closest to the center so probably there if possible.Going to change what I said earlier. After looking at it a bit more I would say Des Moines, IA or Omaha, NE (possibly St Louis as well) as I feel that would give the better overall ping to canadian and us playes.

I made a thread like this, and Archy responded with a joke about the city I named not having any world-class ddos prevention servers. So lemme go rule out the ones I think wouldn't have any good datacenters. @Archybot I'm tagging you to confirm these for me
Lebanon - I've never heard of this place. This is closest to the center of the US, but think about the canadians. I live in TX, don't even begin to say I'm biased towards Canada. I'm pretty much increasing my ping by saying this. Since I've never heard of it, and I knew every city with more than 500,000 people living in it since second grade I doubt this has any good ddos protection hosts like OVH.
Kansas City - This is pretty big, I'm in favor of it being the host for Badlion. But again, it's only so big. There is a slight chance that OVH, the datacenter Badlion has used since Season 9, might not have a host in KC. It's pretty big, but again, think of everyone living far north of it. It is pretty centralized so players from Mexico could use this, but Canada has a bigger concentration of players (I'm not gonna tag Gberry about this since I already tagged an owner, but I would still like confirmation from Archy).
St. Louis - Also pretty big, but it's only like 200 miles east of KC. If I were to choose between KC and this I'd say this, but for the same reasons as above I'm not sure if there are any good ddos protection servers in St. Louis.
Omaha - It's your personal favorite. Cool. As far as I'm concerned this is the largest city in NE, and it might still have under 1 million people living in it. Say about 2000 of around 800,000 (just an estimate of population) play minecraft. Of those 2000 only about 200 know what Badlion is. Then, 0.63% of that (which is the percentage of donators confirmed by Gberry) is 12.6. This rounds to 13 donators. Thirteen donators of around 1500 total donators to Badlion(once again just a guess). This is way too low of a percentage, and again because of the small population OVH might not have even tried investing in setting up here.
Lincoln - The whole reason why I know about this place is because of a book my kindergarten teacher read to me. Other than that I haven't heard of it ever. Very small town and I doubt any good ddos protection hosts are centered here.
Des Moines - Iowa is a great state, my mom's side of the family used to live there, but it's still pretty small. Des Moines is about as well known as Omaha to most. For the same reason, maybe 13 donators live here too. I still have many doubts about any ddos protection hosts having servers here.
Topeka - Again with the stories in second grade, Blue? Yeah, I know about this because Topeka was trying to become a huge Google town in like 2008. They even renamed themselves to Google to try to win the contest. They still lost to Kansas City, Kansas, but I know about this too. Haven't heard anything else about it since then, other than on my state capitals tests in second grade. Still, this is smaller than Lincoln and for that reason there's even less of a chance there even are any donators that live in Topeka. Most likely no good ddos protection servers here.
Archy your time is now to confirm for me

First off, might want to tag @Archybot for this
I wasn't thinking about DDoS protection in this. If it were moved to a central location including factors like DDoS protection and centralized ping, I think St. Louis would be most likely to have these servers with being near the center of the country.

I really think that it is the EU player's own fault if he/she decides to play on NA servers…
+1 from me.
