So… hey.The new rating system is gonna happen in S13, it's inevitable. But here's why I favor it over our precious ELO system:
Archy himself said that one loss isn't gonna drop you 27 elo because this system decides where you are in the system. Of course, this is far different than Season 5, where winning might not even give you rating. But if you go on a losing streak, then that's when you're fucked. By now most good players will stop playing after two consecutive losses to lower elos, so this makes sure that you'll stay at a good ELO if you're smart. Again, though, if you're on a 23 win streak and you lose once, then that resets your win streak. You don't lose rating, but you don't gain any either. The only thing that's bad is hidden; nobody knows you would have gotten drained if we still used ELO. ELO is flawed, this system is also flawed, but we should pick the less flawed of the two, which is the second rating system. It's change, Badlion players don't like change. I don't like change. But if you really think about this this completely eliminates elo sniping and that one 1400 hacker killing you. Not sure if this part was even intended, but GCheat might catch a hacker before its 20 matches are played. If this was intended gberry's a fucking genius and should actually be elected president. This eliminates most of the bad things ELO had, embrace change, don't resent it.

Elo was flawed in a way that was enjoyable imo.It made grinding rating much more than just being skilled at the game. It also showed a player's knowledge of when to grind, when to not grind, when to join a queue, how to prevent getting sniped, etc. I don't know why, but it just made the game interesting beyond the actual game.

From what I've heard is that people liked grinding on 1400s late at night to boost their Elo and that unfortunately won't be as easy in S13.

@lachlol Yes. I 100% agree. Thanks for creating this thread.Posted on 13 July 2016 - 12:19 AM
I actually made this thread because I've fallen victim to many of the things S13 is gonna negate, and I'm glad I did otherwise nobody would side with me.Posted on 13 July 2016 - 01:27 AM

Tbh I think you should atleast see your eloOnly for you.
This would make the fun of grinding elo.
While not getting sniped by hackers.

i like the new systemkeeps new cheaters out of ranked for 20 matches
it takes the players off of a pure number system (elo), maybe people can relax and chill a bit more instead of spam and disrespect others
it's something new, something different than the elo we have been using for a long while
