Another server, which nearly all of you probably know has this plugin which tells you your ping
E.g /p _Prosperous
Console: 59ms
The command replays back saying your connection time but not sure what it means, I do know that the lower it is, the better it is.
This would be really cool do see though.
EDIT: Maybe /p friend add so only they can see your ping!

The way the other server does it is not accurate at all. @MasterGberry has been looking into ways to do this accurately for a while now though.

That is actually extremely interesting, now I do not have to worry about playing players who have google fibre or some crap like that, I only get 200 mgs :c

If you hover over the Minecraft's server top right corner in the server listing it shows this "ping", which isn't real ping. Then again, you are at the mercy of the server ticking anyways…I wonder what would happen if i sped up ticking….prolly would break the client.

I don't think that the server needs a /ping or /p

It'd be nice to be able to type a command to accurately get your ping to the server.

However being able to see another player's is a big no in my opinion. I'm sure you've been on this 'other server' and seen the amount of shit talking people do because of it. I don't really see the point of adding someone as a friend, just so they can see your ping.

Some people might not like the fact you can see there ping for a few reasons.
1. You can be called a "Ping Whore" or "Ping abuser" and nobody will think your good without ping. Thats happend.
2. Some people are just not plain out comfortable with people knowing there ping as galizor had stated above.
3. Its not very accurate most of the time, so you will get a misconception on there ping.
so yes and no. ill like the idea not everyone will.

1. Still happens even without /p
2. i dont think kohi has that problem (they have the /p command)
3. id prefer that over having to relog to see inaccurate ms
