Elo system
So guys I am going to be talking about my personal/general opinion on the new elo system, first off I personally do not like the new elo system based off of rankings since we are all used to the old elo system as it has been around since season 1 (long before I started). Due to numerous reasons I think the old elo system was far more efficient in determining player skill, and brought more competition to this server. I know for a fact I am not the only person who thinks this having spoken to many fellow competitive players who agree with me 100% on this matter. Also I am aware that the new elo system is made so that you can only fight people of similar elo to yourself which I am very happy about however it would be possible to keep this feature and implement it to the old elo system which I personally think would be a better alternative. Anyway to wrap this up I would just like to see some of your suggestions below on how we could solve this "problem" Pce

I like it too, but both systems are very flawed, and we want the one with less flaws. This system requires consistency, not luck.

I didn't think so.
Your mind is too closed. That was one obvious problem in the ELO system, and there were plenty of plus's that the old system brought too. This new ranking idea also has its own benefits, identified by Archy, and it's defects, which have not been highlighted due to the fact that it hasn't been played yet. Leading people to believe that this system only brings benefits and carries no flaws.

why do you guys like the new elo system? Do you think that you'll get more elo with this system? In my opinion its going to be way harded and more time consuming fighting people that are the same elo as you. With the old elo system you could've easly goten your elo back if you got drained by a better player or a hacker but now it will be very hard, you will have to grind all day to get good elo and I think that doing that is really boring. The old elo system is what got badlion so popular and why there were so many people playing it. I don't understand why you would change it if everyone liked it…

this might be the case for played ladders like build, however in kohi ladder i could beat 28 1.4ks in a row, then lag out and lose all of that which would of took me maybe an hour or 2, so in build yes it may be easy to get ur elo back if u died but in the less played ladders (basically all of them) if u died once ud lose maybe 1 or 2 hours worth of playing

but in ladders like kohi, vanilla,no debuff etc they sometimes will MAX have 6 people playing them, so its not enough for that system to work

Lol. It will be pretty easy to tell if a player is skilled if they are ranked as a Master, Diamond, or even Emerald. Master is roughly .00005% of players. Not to difficult to tell whether a player is skilled or not if they ranked highly. What I like about the new system is that it really groups each individual skill level together so it is actually more easy to differentiate the top players from the lower ranked ones.

If no one has seen any flaws in it yet then why are you all complaining about it lol

The main flaw everyone is complaining about is how complicated it is compared to elo, and that's not really a defect

Mind stating those defects, simply stating the word wont prove your point

every system has faults, you simply can't have a perfect one. As I said, you can't identify them yet

Well, this is a case where the benefits outweigh any defects, who even cares about numbers that much, entire gaming communities so much more larger than minecraft are based on that ranking system and are successful, honestly this community is too defensive to change. I see people complaining about maps being boring and flat on a pvp server lol, what do u want ? Intricate mountains, rivers,volcanos, large buildings and holes?
Lets forget about actually PvPing on a server meant for it and take time admiring the map
