Dear comrades, I am here to propose implementing a “subscription button” available to click on the Badlion website, which will notify you about recent events on the website or in-game.
User-x can subscribe to a particular user, forum thread or subforum.
If user-x subscribes to user-y, the system will notify user-x about any activity user-y has done. To make it more comfortable and effective, the subscriber can configure what types of activity do they want to receive a notification for (forum posts; ArenaPvP matches; appeals…).
If user-x subscribes to a forum thread, the system will notify user-x about all the new posts, likes and thread locks/unlocks that the thread receives. To make it more comfortable and effective, the subscriber can configure what types of activity do they want to receive a notification for (only forum posts; posts only by a user-y; only likes…).
If user-x subscribes to a subforum, the system will notify user-x about all the new threads that were posted in that particular subforum.
User-x can receive a notification when subscribed to entity-x via website by the already-working notification system. In-game though, user-x will receive a notification by a similar system, which will send “private messages” to user-x.
User-x can access their subscription list found in their profile. User-x can at any time unsubscribe if they click the same subscription button. User-x can make their subscription list public or private.
Subscriptions are useful if user-x is interested in important announcements, funny posts or “roasts” by certain users, appeals made by their friends or famous users, milestones in the leaderboards, threads that user-x did not create and so forth.
I believe that if this suggestion gets implemented, becomes successful and proves to be truly useful, other entities could acquire the subscription button; for instance, appeals, the leaderboards, the “staff team” (promotions, demotions…) and other.
