I was 2399 last season and I loved the hit detection I loved the kb and everything about elo. Badlion season 13 is new to everyone but I think people like to stick to what they know and not something totally different like the rating system. I just think the whole community doesn't like big changes in the server. I have played on this server for a while now and it's been really fun but as of lately arena has gotten boring their was just something in elo that made numbers exact so u knew how close u were to beating your record or applying for a clan and saying that u were 2.3k elo instead of saying Emerald III. I don't think anyone would listen to me because I'm not very known but I don't think the community likes any of this but the positive part is it brought a lot of players from hypixel ( some that hack and don't know how good the anti cheat is lol)
I don't think this reply made any sense it's like 1:51 am but if u know what I'm talking about then good.

My thoughts:

My views on the rating system are similar to Hivlik's (he convinced me after a while lol). I would prefer a reversion to elo, but I don't believe it's nearly as essential as most of the community believes. If the administration is truly dedicated to making MMR work, then I'll sit it out and trust them to make a balanced, improved system.

Queueing is pretty bad right now - admins/devs are aware and once that's fixed most of this will be much better.

Kb feels great to me. No clue why people keep whining about it.

@ all the people who are saying "listen to the community! the community knows best!", you're all wrong. The community is hiveminded and has no sense of the broader picture. Yes, we wouldn't exist without the community, but a server that is controlled by those who play it rather than a small team of intelligent administrators will undoubtedly fail.

You should ask yourself the same question, getting banned for disrespect. Archy had you begging to just to come back on this server :/

They need to start listening to the community and bring back the queuing system and ELO.

I've read both sides of the argument (The owners vs the player of the OP plus his friends + multiple staff's views). Honestly, I'm torn. On 1 hand, I think that the community should've worked with the devs into creating a good compromise. On the other hand, @Unwise pointed out a fair fact; how most of the community is hive minded and not as educated.

As for ELO, I honestly don't have a problem (or at least not a huge urge for change). However, Badlion is a competitive community; people like to compare skill level. I think that ELO makes for a better representation than the current ranking since with ELO, skill can be quantified. Yeah, the former system may have flaws but one thing has to be made clear; what are we trying to measure and what's the best approach to it? Is it consistency? Or maximum potential?

Queuing system isn't bad but I do believe that Badlion should (if not already) fully adapt to Kohi's queuing system but fix in the ranks.

KB is fine for speed kits but I do agree that 50-60% of the time, rods in Build UHC do nearly nothing. KB should be raised just a bit more.

I don't think there's a single system that would defeat all hackers. That would eliminate them before they could achieve an advantage. This applies to UHC (and G-Cheat). There isn't going to be a perfect anti cheat that would catch every single type of mining/entity locating client. Yes, I agree that the Anti X-Ray is overwhelmingly laggy at some parts of a UHC and I hope that gets fixed soon.

I won't worry bout SG too much.

My suggestions/concerns

Suggestion: Do an experiment where you secretly revert back to elo for about a week or so and compare the size of player base of before the revert, during, and possibly after (if needed). I think that this will solve the question of the existence of correlation between removing/adding elo and the player base.

Concern: Lava buckets don't place half the time and are extremely glitchy. I was actually going to record how picking/dropping lava doesn't work half the time but thought that the devs were already on it. If need be, I would gladly play a few BuildUHC while recording.

Guess that's my response to this.

@FightingCloud, I tagged you since I thought your opinion could be well constructed and be a great opinion overall. Also because this reminds me of the thread we debated on that you made.

I agree to a point but I do think along with a ranking u could have a elo like on ur profile a elo so u know where u are in forms of elo and that would make it easier to crown are best and a worst if u catch my drift

At this point there is nothing new being contributed to this thread. I ask people to await the changes that Archy and I are proposing before a further discussion is had about Season 13/14.

Locking this thread as a result, we are 100% confident that the new rating/matchmaking system will handle every actual valid concern in this thread raised. A new community feedback thread will be made when we are ready to test the new systems and gather CONSTRUCTIVE feedback on them. ELO is never coming back, it's not you, it's ELO :) Just making that very clear. It needs to die in our platform just like it has died in almost every other game platform.
