I am not too experienced in archer but I do have some tips. I am more of a short range/mid range guy. Btw I am not sure by archer you mean with the bow or the archer ladder.
Have f3+b on in archer it always helps you see the arrows coming in long range. If you are loosing the battle by 3 hearts or more , enderpearl or bow boost yourself away. You will need to hit less shots cause the bow will do alot more damage and staying close range doesnt make any sense. For close / mid range its abit more complicated. Pay atention to your opponent , pay atention to how many arrows he drops or how much he moves after dropping everyone has a pattern. Try shooting the second he lands. If advanced ever gets added back never sword rush and dont gapple unless its %100 safe there isnt any absorption and the bow does alot of damage. Try playing reddit . I havent experienced this first hand (cause uhcs are boring) but alot of my friends did and if you enjoy uhcs play reddit uhcs it improves your bow skills alot from what I have seen. After some point its just experience and playing alot.
