Hi, creating this thread to give some S13 feedback.Maps (potion ladders):
The bad:
to keep things short, the maps are terrible. The themes of ALL the potion ladder maps are boring and way to distracting/in your face (bright, give me a seizure). The maps are way to big and cause FPS issues. I'm not to sure why the old Kohi maps weren't transferred (I'm sure there is a good reason). The size of Kohi's old maps could have been a tad bigger, though they weren't boring and most of them had a nice theme. The Map "River" from old kohi is an ideal map for all Potion PvP game-modes.
The Good:
ALL the maps are flat and consistent and are easy to fight on (despite what i said up top^)
Match starting:
I strongly dislike being locked/frozen at the start of matches and have it tp me back to the starting block at the end of the 5 second count down. I find this feature really clunky and just frustrating. Kohi's old way of commencing a match was a lot smoother and even if you somehow managed to damage a player in those first 5 seconds it wouldn't deal damage.
they are my only complaints about Season 13 and feel that the developer team is doing a great job. Keep up the good work. @MasterGberry @Archybot
EDIT: couldn't find anywhere in "Community Feedback" where this would fit in.

I wasn't trying to say Badlion is bad and old Kohi was better. I was saying some features were fine/better the way they were. Badlion has always been better then Kohi. I was giving my feedback and not trying to bash Badlion.Posted on 07 August 2016 - 03:52 PM
I think we might lower the countdown from 5 seconds to 3. Also would like to make it a bit smoother and not so rubberbandy. As far as the FPS i would think the large simple maps are really easy on your client to not have much lag. Are there specific maps?

Hi @MasterGberry, thank you for replying. My computer specs aren't amazing though on a dual core i7 (4500u) i can defiantly notice the difference between the Build UHC and Potion PvP maps. This isn't a problem for me as i have much more powerful PC. My comment about FPS was to be a voice for others complaining in chat. (i jumped on my laptop to test)
The map themes are really taking a step back though, the striped colours are very distracting. The actual design is perfect though, very flat and easy to compete on. As i said, the maps could be smaller to help some fps deprived users.
I have no problems with the countdown itself. Its the locking you in position (teleporting you back) until it finishes that i find really clunky and tacky.
In case you're wondering my laptop specs are:
i7 4500u (normally runs from 2.6 - 2.8ghz)
8GB RAM
AMD Radeon HD 8850M
1920x1080 monitor
I tried as many fps increasing/stabilisation tactics as i could. (adding more RAM to MC, optifine, numerous fps packs)
I would have thought these specifications would be fine running minecraft. I should add that my frame rate was very inconsistent on the large Potion maps. I could reach my computers maximum frame rate just fine, it was just the inconsistency on the larger maps that made it hard to compete on.

How many chunks are you rendering? The more of a view distance you have the lower your FPS is too.If there are specific potion maps lagging i would like to know about those.

I'll jump on and get the names of the maps I'm talking about. @HalfCreeperLionshine: The design is fine, could be smaller. (I've had people just run)
Barren: Map size and layout is fine, though its a very ugly map. Dirt, cobble and stone isn't very attractive. (I know its for a "barren" looking theme)
Trail: to big, i notice more fps drops on this map. The theme is very repetitive and I'm not a huge fan.
Hypn: This map is ridiculously big. This map is so big that i find it distracting having it always rendering in new sections of the map as i play. The theme of this map is pretty bad, the stripes are ugly and i find them distracting.
Quidditch: Another way to big, way to distracting map. just so many different vibrant colours thrown at your face in a silly stripy pattern. (big side columns included)
I guess a lot of what I'm saying is personal preference though i think i have a lot of people agreeing with some of the things I'm saying. Please don't take offence to any of the comments i made about the maps. This is constructive criticism and me giving my input.
