I was bored one day and decided to test the mechanics of knock back. I realised something interesting. It's true that you take more kb on the first hit after resetting Sprint. My alt moved around 5 blocks on the first hit and only 2 from the second hit.So I decided to test the most common way players do this in pvp, which is w tapping. But after some testing, I realised just how inconsistant it actually is. I tested tapping w from 2 times a second to 6. Regardless of the rate I pressed w, it seemed like half the time w tapping didnt reset sprint. I realised blockhitting was a much more consistant method, the action of blocking reset the sprint 10/10 times. Am I just w tapping wrong or is blockhitting a better way to reset sprint than w tapping, thoughts?

I am still so confused about w-tapping. Some players double or even triple tap their w-key between every hit. Others single tap. I don't know which to do?Posted on 08 August 2016 - 10:44 PM

I decent at w tapping, what I've found if you strafe to the left or right and the tap W can get some really sick combos.I feel its all about muscle memory, when I' in a certain position or If i get a good rod on them I do it without even thinking about it

Blockhitting and w tapping are the same thing, its just that with w tapping timing has to be more precise

w tapping multiple times in between hits doesn't help. you only need to do it once.Posted on 09 August 2016 - 06:28 PM

W tapping is all about timing, releasing it just before your second hit ensures it working, doing it 2-3 times in between is more like spamming it hoping that in some situation you actually timed it right.
