ESL Competitive Minecraft PvP

While this sounds great, I've thought about it and it seems like it will literally be impossible for minecraft to go pro. Here's why:1. With every update, Mojang is making PvP worse and worse. This is not a pvp game, it's a sandbox game for little kids, and Mojang is establishing that even further. It'll be very difficult to set up a competitive environment when the game developers are doing the opposite.
2. There are some cheaters in games like CSGO, but it's out of control in Minecraft. This game is way too easy to cheat in, even a 10 year old could download an undetectable client from most anti cheats. A portion of the community uses clients like Spook and Vape which are undetectable at the right settings.
3. No one will take Minecraft PvP seriously. The only people who would watch minecraft events are minecraft players, it's just not a very intriguing game compared to fps games. Seriously though, just listen to it "Competitive Minecraft", it's cringy after 2 words. I have a feeling it won't be viewed as a competitive game especially since people generalize it as a building game for 9 year old squeakers.
4. Ddosing. It would be nearly impossible to host big events without at least one player being hit offline, it's already happening too much in UHC. It happened in MCSG Clan Battles… These are small events that happen pretty much daily, imagine a 5v5 money prize tournament (remember the last one?) I see way too many things going wrong with big events, The sponsorship with ESL could possible keep the servers from being ddosed/crashing but in the end minecraft just isn't a consistent game and this would be very, very difficult to manage.
That's all I have for my response, I'd really like to see this happen and it might work with ESL's funding but there are so many flaws with minecraft that it would be nearly impossible. Thoughts?

DDoSing only happens to players if they're dumb enough to join random teamspeaks and give their Skype. Everything else you touched on though I can agree 100%. +1Posted on 09 August 2016 - 03:10 PM
Are you implying that, because Minecraft PvP, and by extension Badlion, will never be as competitive as other games, ELO should be reinstated to replace the current ranking system, since we are not, and we never be, an e-sport?that's what I took out of this thread, maybe because I'm a firm believer that elo should come back

might as well try tbhcompetitive smash bros was also in a very similar situation for a long time. minus the cheating and Ddosing, of course.

Just don't remove 1.7 or 1.8 if they do on Badlion (which will never happen) it's fine with otherwise 95% of the community will leave for good
