Good questionI'm sure I would have quit Minecraft by now without Badlion. I might have been much better off too.
I'm just now realizing that not having BL in my life would actually give me lots of free time. The amount of time of me literally doing administration tasks is not so much, but not having anything on my mind, not having people constantly need me, not needing/wanting to moderate or play the server would not only give me extra time on top of that, but also less stress and other things to think about. Less things to keep me busy.
I'm thinking, the actuality of being busy with Badlion makes me do really poor money-wise. I live on my own, so I need to buy my own stuff, I study so I need to pay my own fees and books.. On top of that I went to Uganda and I did $2700 eye-surgery this year. This itself has nothing to do with Minecraft, but how the hell am I supposed to earn this back? Never earned a coin from Badlion atleast.. With the extra free time I would have had I might have taken an actual good job or something, instead of the free job I'm doing right now. Well, I am a board member of a pub and that pays a bit but it's not much.
This might sound negative, but I'm damn well enjoying what I am doing. While dealing with hundreds of players, I'm being appreciated by even more. Being part of an official business that already affected the lives of more than a million people and making decisions that affect these people satisfies me and gives me experience. I already learned much about how communities work, and sometimes I received their feedback right to my, or my colleagues's face, but the shield you eventually create against it makes you grow hard. For example staying sensible and cool-headed even if many people dislike your work is useful
I would never go back and revert my staff application to BL
