Lol I'm pretty sure sitting in an air-conditioned room, munching on chips, and drinking a Pepsi isn't the hardest job in the world. Not even by a long shot. Sure moderators have to deal with people, but EVERYONE does. Not to hate on these "Minecraft Volunteer Jobs" but we have to get real. Trust me, when you get a real job serving actual people, and getting PAID for it, you'll re-think why people even joined the staff team.
Trust you? You are making a terrible point. I have had multiple jobs in my life when I needed to help REAL people and I am not regretting joining staff at all.
Replying to OP: I completely agree. Nothing more to be said than that. Burntcactus's answer is correct as well
Psst, quick tip. If you want your reports to be listened to a bit more, use good, honest and detailed information and leave away unnecessary info. I never check out a report saying 'hacks' anymore since about 90% of them are illegit.

@freekkillerI was mad disrespectful and a huge dick before I got mod. Not really sure how I got accepted the second time around, given the way I was acting.

Games are meant for you to have fun and enjoy yourself. Not, waste your time dealing with idiotic people's problems on a server. What would you rather do? Spend time helping people, and not getting paid. Or getting paid and progressing in your life. Minecraft is a game not responsibility. Staying up all night, dedicating hours won't do anything but hurt you in the end.@freekkiller

When I come home I look forward to getting on badlion and moderating. I rarely pvp, I spend most of my time moderating. During work I'll even check the forums. You may not be able to see the fun in moderating, and often times it's not fun, but I don't really view it as work at all, I treat it with a professional attitude as I would a job, but I do still get to sit here in my nice cozy chair, with my nice cozy air conditioner, and talk with players/staff and enjoy myself. I don't have to punch a clock, or wait until lunch time to eat. I'm at home I can do whatever/whenever. I can mod when I feel like it, and pvp when I feel like it.Posted on 05 September 2014 - 01:14 PM

Would you like to wipe an old man's butt after he's done pooping, in a nursing home for the elderly? Would you like to tell a bunch of crying babies to shut up at the day care center? Would you like to clean the toilets after people have been pissing next to it? No, but still people do it without getting paid, as a volunteer job. They do it to help. I don't always like to clean up the hackers, or tell a bunch of crying badlion babies to shut up. But I still do it, to help.
The owners put countless hours into developing/moderating/administrating the server. They don't make any profit. All the money they make goes directly back to the server to maintain a lag-free environment. They still do it though.
I like this 'job' because there is no working schedule. You can moderate whenever you like. I don't need to dedicate hour after hour, or stay up all night. It's all flexible. Therefore, it's not hurting me in the end at all. It's actually kinda improving my English skills since it's my second language :D

I enjoy it. I've been here since the server only had 4-5 people regularly on it, and I liked helping it become what it is now and helping it grow more. If you're trying to tell me I shouldn't do something that I enjoy because I don't get paid for it, then do I get to have any hobbies at all?
