I can never keep a good w/l in build, anyone who plays with 80ms wanna give me tips? I'm 25-21 right now, and I was 2100 last season. I literally cannot wait until season 14 and its progression bars so I can finally see where I am. I've been losing a lot more because I can definitely tell that the knockback is far lower than it used to be, and whenever I try to play defensive and rod/bow someone away it does literally nothing. Why isn't vanilla kb acceptable? Is it because you think it's too much? Either way, I'm not a huge fan of this knockback, but eventually I'll get used to the fact that if I get down to one heart I'm fucked. I really need pvp tips, and not just people responding with "wtap" "blockhit" "strafe more" because I'm trying that. I want more advanced tactics, and I can pretty much guarantee you Crafty's not gonna want to miss an opportunity to shitpost and he'll just put the three above in his reply. I've been stuck at Gold 2 for the longest time. I need help with PvP right now. Nobody joins any of the other ladders except maybe NDB and SG, but Build is the one ladder everyone's in right now. I can't seem to get lava placements down right either. I'm just looking for people who can give me advanced tips, not just "wtap blockhit strafe lavaspam be a fucking douchebag and make sure nobody likes fighting you because that's literally everyone in build right now"Posted on 15 August 2016 - 04:26 PM
A lot of people don't have that good of a w/l ratio because with the rating system you're fighting loads of people your skill level and not just a bunch of 1400's lolPosted on 15 August 2016 - 04:59 PM
imo ive been doing shit this season in build as well but ill give u some things that work for me1. i notice you set your rod to slot 2, which is what i did in the past. As soon as i set my rod to 9, which i hotkey to with V, my rod aim just suddenly becomes 10x better, idk why. Maybe it's because it takes more effort to reach V than 2 so i have to focus more on aiming the rod not just spamming it
2. use the bow moderately, not enough to trigger everyone you fight but enough to drain some health, it's a very powerful asset
3. Whenever your opponent gets knocked into a block (doesn't have to be 2 blocks high) (the back of their feet is rubbing against a side of a block) lava them, it's easier to hit them. You can also rod and lava their feet when they're frozen by the rod
4. if you both stop to heal either get 1 or 2 bow shots in before gappling or play aggressive and knock them away to heal
5. put your water in one of the easier to reach hotbar slots, that's what everyone does these days, water can be such a great weapon
6. conserving healing can sometimes work but don't conserve to the point of eating gapples instead of heads when you're like 1 heart
7. always try to go for rod combos, rod once, cast another rod while they're immobilized so you can basically freeze them in one spot while you move in

your friendly neighborhood asshole here to remind you that there are not specific things you can do to get better. Practice, learn what works and what doesn't. You will get betterLast edited on 15 August 2016 - 05:47 PM by Lupo

And its probably because this season you're fighting people that r close 2 ur eloI'd say play defensive I was 2100 last season :o
1- rod trick. go for a jump crit. after your hut rod your opponent it will act like a double crit
2- land your shots(practice)
3- wall up
4- play smart. not like a barbarian who goes in for melee when ur opponent bowspamming you.
5- rodspam a litte and go for a hit
6- know how to melee and practice your aim by playing the GApple kit.
7- enjoy getting death threatened.
