Approximate Elo vs MMR Conversion

To be honest, I should probably update it and make a better version of it first.
But apparently it's accurate, so idk how you can improve it.

Edit: Is s13 mmr the same as s14 mmr? If not, you probably should change things up a bit.

It's imperfect. It's a good approximation but it operates off a few key (false) assumptions: One, that 1400 is Silver III (it's actually Silver II) and also that certain parts of the elo -> MMR conversion are more linear than they actually are. That's really vague, but I guess there's some more stuff I'd include in it before I call it a great conversion.

If 1400 is Silver II, won't the guy who made the video have to redo the division? Where's proof of Silver II being 1400?
btw sry for l8 reply my kindle died

I'll personally redo it. It's not hard math, just annoying.

Someone with very few matches played (but a positive record) ends up with a little over Silver II, while someone slightly worse ends up with high Silver III (in terms of global rank I mean).

it would feel more accurate imo if everything was bumped up ~75

but if this is the most accurate made i guess i cant argue

was ~1560 S12 but ok

I do feel that the conversion should be a bit higher

this doesnt seem accurate because most silver 1's and gold 5's in season 13 were 1700-1800s in season 12 .

I see lots of people arguing this, but they don't tend to realise that in S12 you could grind to a higher rating much easier, which you can't really do now. Average skill level has increased since S12, and in S14 the playstyle is different to S12. Also, as most of your opponents are a similar skill level, one mistake can change the game dramatically. My main flaw is that I am inconsistent throughout a fight and I make bad decisions, which is probably the reason I'm so far behind my 'ELO-equivalent' rank.

Although I personally don't feel the need for it (as I have basically always just looked at leaderboard placement rather than scores/ranks) I think a lot of people would like to see this and it should put an end to all of the vague/inaccurate conversion threads.

How would you go about doing that?
Edit: Thought that was the last page. Nvm.

I feel like conversions like this are harsh, because in Season 14 you fight players roughly on your same level, whereas in Season 12 with ELO you can easily get 2K and rarely fight really good players because of grinding in eu 5 for example.
