What truly is the skill-gap of this game? People say its so low and I've been playing it since February and have never got to 1500 and never got gold in any ladder. Been playing for hours a day and have been trying everything to get better, only to fail. Don't tell me it only takes cps and aim because I've been trying so hard to get good that. There is something more. I just know it. My kdr has been bad for three seasons straight. A friend of mine got to 1800 in three months. Is it just me being garbage or is their something else I'm missing.Posted on 24 August 2016 - 07:21 PM

Stop looking for opportunities to shit post. I already play defensively in every ladder and it doesn't work.

honestly its all completely subjective. I think it just varies on the on the player base and obviously the server you are playing on. Like it was pointed out by hivlik in one of his recent videos, there are a lot of good players out there. But it takes a lot of talent to be consistently good and consistently dominating all aspects of the competitive realm.

Asking what the skill gap is won't help you, it's literally something people like hivlik ponder just to fill up time/make themselves think that they're doing something productive
all I can tell you is that the skill gap is huge is every pvp aspect
cps and/or aim is literally the foundation of pvp so there's really nothing "more," you're just not aiming. Do you mean there's "something more" in terms of learning how to aim faster..?

I'm sorry but it's the truth - literally this game is aim and cps and then ping / latency plays a role in this as well. In potpvp it's also pot management as well as health management. In build it'd be health management and apple management. The only things you can improve on is aim and CPS. You can edit your windows registry to help with latency but that's it. If you wanna learn how to "aim faster" it comes down to sensitivity at that point. I play on 2600 DPI and Hyperspeed so "aiming fast" is easy for me. I literally have to move my mouse a few millimeters and i'll do a 360 - hence why it's easy for me to "aim faster." The way I control it took a while. I've been playing on that sensitivity for a good while now and I'm used to it, I highly recommend you NOT try that out. But what I do recommend is upping your sensitivity just a bit if you want to aim faster or whatever.Posted on 25 August 2016 - 12:00 AM
the biggest thing I do is i try to 'manouver' out of my opponents way. i try to predict their movements and judge based on how much KB I expect them to take etc I move just the right amount to get a combo… idk how to rly explain it I just 'go';P hope i helped

No one has said this but doesn't movement matter? How you move your character and reacting to how your opponent moves his/her's?

I've played since late 2012, and I only got good at around very very late 2014. Just practice.Posted on 25 August 2016 - 12:02 PM

I mean there's a lot more than just aim and cps. W-tap, s-tap and A & D tap are all extremely useful as well, also some other tactics like shift tapping, blockhitting, even spacebar tapping LOL. I guess most of the stuff I'm talking about is more useful for raw melee though
