Hey guys. As some of you saw last week on Twitter I was raging about the launch of season 14 and how the few issues it had could have easily had been avoided if more people got off their asses and helped to test the damn thing instead of just expecting it to work. As a result I have made a decision regarding future games on Badlion, an industry standard per se. People who want to get access to games when they are released are either 1. Going to have to be a Donator or higher or 2. Help beta test to get access to the games on release. Otherwise people are going to have to wait a few days to a week for access to a new game mode on Badlion. This will ensure that we get enough people beta testing and give those who do an early start on the leader boards/final product.

For those of you who did help to beta test, we greatly appreciate your dedication. People really don't understand how hard it is to test software under load. We have 1000s of lines of unit test code to try and make sure our logic is working properly. Those 1000s of lines of test code can never match the art of randomness. Having a few hundred players come on and try various things at the same time is always going to be a better test simulation than any amount of test code we write. Between the various game modes and choices a user can make on ArenaPvP concurrently with other users in parties, on the server, etc there are 1000s of possibilities of logic branching. It's just too hard to test this through automated testing. Just because you did not experience a bug during beta does not mean that you did not help to possibly create one.

The only major issues we did have with the ArenaPvP Season 14 beta were basically load factors in a result of those 1000s of logic branches. As soon as we had a few hundred people online playing we found the few issues that our automated testing had missed really quickly. So thank you to those people who helped us to test the beta extensively. As a sign of our appreciation we have given people who helped beta testing by playing at least 2 rounds on the beta (transferring from arenapvp lobby to arenapvp game server 2 times or more) some free cosmetic cases on Badlion. The breakdown was 2-10 games = 2 cases, 11-50 games = 3 cases, 51-100 games = 4 cases, over 100 games = 5 cases. No changes will be made and if you were not awarded the cases this means you did not meet the requirements.

We also have just recently added some new cosmetic cases as well, rod particles! We have more ideas for cosmetics that can be won from cases that are more pvp friendly and you will see those coming out in the following months too. A screenshot was posted yesterday on twitter:



If you want to help Badlion to actively grow then become an active forum community member, become an active beta tester, and you will see us prosper much more. There will be a new report system coming soon too with a karma/accuracy based system to help crack down on people cheating. Stay tuned for more information on that shortly.

You can access the cases in game in the lobby by using the Ender Chest in your inventory or by typing /cosmetics on any server on the network.

Congrats to all of them, also the new rod particle looks amazing imo. Btw im so hyped for the new report system.

I played a bit of the beta, sorry I couldn't play as much I had a busy week with school. But from what I see Season14 is running really well with minimal bugs (from what I've seen)!

Is that from both betas or just the second one that happened a few days after? I made it to the first one and helped test but wasn't able to make it to the second.
