Well I mean, it is part of Minecraft. That isn't the only reason I'd say -1, I agree with Ryano that it's they player's decision what they do with gear. I haven't heard any complaints about this at all so I don't think it's a problem.

no, thats fair because it takes time for someone to go into their inventory, find the gold, and craft it. Burning items is just as simple as lighting a fire and pressing q in your inventory, or even jumping in lava.
