Is it possible
One of the managers on sarefine said they were developing a way for 2 proxies to connect to one server (EU and NA) and both have low ping, is this even possible?
E.g. Instead of getting 200ms on EU, 50ms on NA and 300ms on AU you'd just get 50ms to all of them by connecting to the NA proxy.
It seems impossible because Badlion probably would have done it by now and it's pretty unrealistic but why would sarefine claim they were going to do it

if they do it, then badlion will finally have ompetition and incentive to improve at a quicker rate,

if they manage to do this, that would be insane

Don't know enough about routing to say for sure, but Sarefine kinda sucks either way so idk

Sounds impossible to me

So instead of a guy living in Australia connecting through an AU server and getting 300ms ping, they'd connect through an NA server and get 50ms ping? Doesn't sound possible to me…

It is 100% possible, there is no way that can happen or else all the games in the world would of used it lol

sarefine needs to make an actual anticheat before they bullshit about things they can't do

I think he means everyone would connect to their closet proxy and the match would be played somewhere in the middle between both proxies, if it was an EU vs an AU the match would be played in NA or AS to give fair ping.

This would be horrible, they're going to have insanely high connections,

There is a lot of space between these countries, it would never work like this.

It's impractical to do this.

We arent going to ruin the quality of matches just so someone from eu can play with their friend from au on the same server and both lag so it's "fair" it wouldn't work like that.

Also, the ping of each of them would be i'd say 200+ so, back to the quality of the matches, it's not "fair" just because they both have 200ms

EU to NA is 90-100
EU to NAW is 120-160
EU to AS is 120-180

AU to NA is 200
AU to NAW is 130-150
AU to AS is 120-180

Having an equal matchup at 120-180 ping is fine. If you want to play low ping then you do that, this is a nice addition for those who want to play against others around the world.

You need to have several (10 or more locations) to do this correctly.

NYC
NAW
SA

AU

SG
JP

EUW
EUC

Africa?

I mean that there's one universal server where players can connect through different proxies and get the same ping as their proxy.

perhaps that would be a good investment

asia to AU is definitely not 120 ping
NZ maybe but not AU(shit routing like korea and japan)

That's not how it works at all. You can only see your ping to the proxy. You can't see your ping between proxy and server. So if there is 50 ping from you to proxy, then the proxy has 100 ping to the server, your ping is actually 150, even though you see 50.
