Currently, 84 % of the population are religious. As I'm a passionate atheist, I feel like I'm an outcast since I'm part of the minority who does not have a faith

The problem is I want to truly have a faith, actually believe in it but I just can't. Every time I think that you float up to heaven when you die just makes me giggle, instead of slowly decomposing, which is what all these silly scientists say. I get bullied in school because I said oh my god in English class. . My friends turned against me when they found out I had no faith as well as using the lord's name in vain as they put it. Even my parents kicked me out my trailer park when they found out. Their last words were " Cletus, I don't want my possessed child anywhere near this trailer park y'all better run before I pull my gun on you boi"

I truly want to believe in a religion, not just pretend but not actually believe it

Your job is to try to help me find my faith, convince me, do whatever so I can become a hardcore new born Christian, or any other religion.

Since most of the people on this thread are American ( Very very religions) I thought this was the best place to help people show me the way.

Please help me convert to religion so my friends, good old papa Billy Bob and my Ma Kandy can let my back in my home.

float up to heaven? wait what religion is that?
basically in my religion: you are a bad person=go to hell, good person=good chance of heaven
Like come on if you float up to heaven then did hitler really float up to heaven? After killing millions of ppl…

If most people believe in it, it doesn't mean it's true.

You don't need to pick a specific religion or take one completely literally to believe there's something out there. Lots of things accepted by science are actually pretty bizarre. Just think about how matter and energy actually came to exist, either out of nothing or if it has existed infinitely. Both options are mind-blowing. And your own conscious - how you are actually here, and how you're you and nobody else. It all sounds kind of simple, but when you really think about it it gets fascinating. The universe and existence as a whole are one step beyond logic, and once you reach that point, there is definitely a possibility for there being a god.

Respect their beliefs but don't believe in them yourself. You see, if you're the minority, everyone is because people are all different religions, meaning there is not "majority religion", maximum is not even close to being half the population. So yes, there are people with larger religions but there are also a lot of people with the same belief as yourself.

Good thing he's an atheist, otherwise he would be too fearful of an eternity in Hell to commit the greatest imaginable sin of being a shitposter!

As an "educated" religious person, I can help you a bit, but if you think the perfect religion for you is going to fall from the sky into your head, you are wrong.

Here are some tips:

- Try visiting as many religious objects as you can. (if you live in an islamic/muslim country i highly doubt there are any non-islamic churches (exception is Turkey (Istanbul))

- Don't think that religion gives you worries, just behave how you think you should.

- Try praying to God every time you are in a trouble, have an exam…. (but that doesn't mean you don't have to study obv)

Eh! Why should I belive in that?!

Here are some basics:

If there's no God, how was the matter, energy, even space created?

Have you ever seen the God? No? So it doesn't exist. - Have you ever seen your brain? No? So it doesn't exist.

You can't prove God's existance. - You can't even prove your exist in the first place

Other:

In the Bible there are some really weird things written:

- In the Bible it says that the Earth is about 8000 years old, but the sceince says it is over 4 billions years old
, right?

- In the Bible it says that the Earth is flat.

There is 1 simple answer: WE CAN NOT TRUST SCEINCE

They faked "the moon landing", they faked "Felix's space jumping", they faked a lot things, why wouldn't they lie to us more?

And about the flat Earth, no, I am not one of the Flat Earthers, but it could be faked, btw wasn't Isac Newton a freemason, seems legit :)

Yes a secular representative republic that was founded on liberal principles by a number of Deists is a highly religious place. Something i can't get my head around.
Regardless, I settled with deism; whichever cunt(s) founded this shit plane of existence certainly want nothing to do with it now. For example I think Mr Yahweh fucked off after the Israelites went full spectrum and started conquering the shit out of their Canaanite neighbours, raping and pillaging as they went along and venerating other gods like the henotheists they were. He probably gave it one more try with Jesus, but that didn't turn out quite well for him did it.

Time to be serious. Matter may have always been there in the first place. Us humans find that hard to comprehend along with some of the other big questions. For example, the concept of infinite to me is bewildering. It's human nature to find an explanation for something which is not yet understood. It is common that people will just jump to a scape goat to explain anything remotely we do not quite get. That is called religion. As scientific knowledge is rapidly improving, we are seeing a rise in atheism. This is because science can explain anything complex just the way religion easily can try to. If the rate of progression continues, religion slowly but surely will die out as science progressively will answer the mysteries of life as we know it.

I'm being serious, you're actually moronic. Prove god scientifically. Don't give me your bullshit religious phrases that you believers use when you haven't got a proper answer. Prove it. Faith doesn't prove shit, you're just believing in some character that doesn't even exist. Brainwash. Idiocy.

Prove how the energy that created the Big Bang came to exist scientifically. You can't, yet it did. Moreover, prove that god DOESN'T exist scientifically. You can't do that, either.

Science can't prove a lot of things. It can't even prove gravity. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist. You're the only one being moronic.

Brainwashed to believe in God? We used to have to pray in primary school, I hated it. Anyway back to the point. Humans have been around for 250,000 years. We have only been rapidly progressing scientifically for only a couple of thousand years, mainly due to the birth of language. Just think. We went from thinking the earth was flat to landing on the moon in a matter of hundreds of years. If we keep rapidly progressing, imagine what we could discover, possibly that God isn't real. They'll look back on us in x amount of years just like we do on previous generations, on how naive and stupid we were.

I disagree that science can explain anything complex. The more complex things get the more we realize how little we actually know or have any chance of knowing. Like when you look at things on a really small scale, for example Higgs-Boson particles that come in and out of the 3D plane, it seems like things are just far too complex to have happened accidentally, and for us to understand. I doubt religion will die out at any point as long as humans are still humans.
