I recently got hacked after 2 different forums my forum account was on had been hacked in and all the accounts/passwords found out (ImperialNetworks and ArcadianMC fyi) The hacker decided to go further and crack accounts with these emails and passwords, as well as exploiting Yahoo and getting in my email.
Just want to make a note that you should have different passwords, but MAKE THEM DIFFERENT, not just a variation of the same password. I realised that mistake too late as i included caps and numbers for my email and different for my MC, but both were hacked into within half an hour. (The guy that did it was being a cunt, saying he was a "whitehat hacker" but at the same time telling me he had my email and minecraft, for no reason other than to scare me. I've had to change every single password to prevent myself being hacked again. Others may not be so lucky and have lost all their stuff)
I was very close to getting banned after my forums account started spamming racist comments and pornographic imagery. I have like 5 different passwords and that's the only thing that stopped him from getting my Skype and any further personal information.

To sum it up, make sure all your passwords are different. If you're sensible and don't download files that could be ratted, put them in a Notepad / .txt file, otherwise write them down and put them in a drawer. (Sure, a burglar could break in and see your list of passwords, but why the hell would they be interested in your skype or your minecraft?) and try and remember the most important ones from your head (paypal etc.) otherwise just write it down in the back of a diary and hide in a safe place.

Just trying to make the virtual world a safer place for others.

gmail accounts, minecraft accounts, skype account, forum account, instagram account, twitter account, + every other account on anything i ever made used to use the same exact password l0l
