Revive maple tree, part time dev for Badlion, or just play?
MapleTree was always a true passion project for myself, it was something I always felt really strongly about pursuing. One of the unfortunate facts that eventually led to me putting the project to rest, was just the simple truth that creating a network now is a lot harder to do than it was two or three years ago. The infrastructure required in order to bring your to life and create something people want to play is so much more expansive than it was in the past, it really requires a solid team of competent individuals (and a lot of funding) to be able to do right.
I think a perfect example of this is the incredible increase in more complex and sophisticated cheating clients over the years. Years ago you had very simple clients, stuff like Nodus and you could set up a PvP server with nothing more than NoCheatPlus (popular public anti cheat) and you'd be done. Nowadays, if you're a PvP server it's standard practice to implement your own Anti-Cheat (because current public solutions are no longer effective against these better clients), which is an incredibly expensive and time consuming task to do. It's something that is very hard to get right, but it's an absolute requirement for any PvP server who wants people to actually play on their servers. That is just one of many reasons why I ultimately ended up putting the project to rest, I may revive it but only if there was ever a time when I thought it'd be a worthwhile venture.
If the opportunity was presented to me to do work for Badlion, I'd certainly consider it but at the end of the day I'd need to make a decision that is in the best interest for my future.
I'm definitely looking forward to the release of CTF, as well as the release of some other Overcast styled game modes. Those sorts of developments do really excite me, so yes I do think I'll play. Probably no where near as much as I did in years past, but it's still something nonetheless that I'd be excited to play.

Thoughts on Badlion in general?
new quality poster folks
I think it's a lovely place to chill out and play Minecraft, like all businesses it has its own handful of issues (and/or problems) but, I must admit I was shocked to see all of the overwhelmingly positive and kind responses I got to this thread, that really did surprise me. Looking from the outside in there is usually a quite strong stereotype that Badlion is incredibly toxic (or just not a friendly environment in general). I haven't seen anything at this point and time to reinforce that stereotype, I'm hoping that is something Badlion can break over time as I know to some that is a major factor in whether or not they want to come here and play.

How would you rate your own PvP skill?
I'd rate myself around a 4 out of a scale of 1 to 10. It's just something I don't really excel at, and I'm completely fine with that. I'm mainly concerned about developing carpal tunnel, I had felt symptoms of something along those lines after doing a lot of melee work on Overcast, and this was about three months ago. Since then I've tried to eliminate that kind of activity completely, I've been feeling much better and haven't had any issues since.
