Hey guys. I know this is a little bit late but we have been so busy trying to fix SG 2.0 that we never formally announced it. We have been hard at work trying to finalize SG 2.0 and add all of the last minute features to make the gameplay way smoother. The last updates should come in less than 24 hours from this post which should stabilize the few bugs remaining that we are already rebuilding/redesigning from some old legacy code that is acting up.What is new in SG 2.0
- Airdrops - At the 3.5 minute mark and the 10 minute mark there is an airdrop. What is an airdrop? A chest is dropped from the sky at the beacon location. You have to break the chest open and then you can grab the loot inside. Better tier'd loot is found in these airdrops so make sure you get involved in the fight for the loot.
- New Rating System - We have upgraded our old SG Ranked rating system to a new algorithm and put it behind our new badge system. There will be a leader board available tomorrow later in the day with everyone's ranking so you can track your progress fighting for the top spots.
- Refreshed Item Tier'ing - We have modified the item tiering to try and balance it a bit better.
- New Maps - We have added new maps and fixed old maps. We have done some work on various maps to try and improve player's FPS. If you are still suffering from FPS issues please contact @HalfCreeper with the map you are having severe FPS issues and where (locations/coords)
- Death Match Arenas for all maps - Any maps that did not have a death match arena now has one and all maps have been converted to use it. This will make less random fighting and being glitched back because you are running too far.
- There is a dead laying entity now whereever you kill someone. If that person has been killed within the last 60 seconds then their skin will show, but if they've been dead for over 60 seconds then it will show a skeleton skin. This way you can know when kills are fresh to figure out if someone was just in an area
- Teams of 2 Compatibility - Queue up with a friend and take on other players in a team of two instead of the standard FFA
- Advanced Statistic Pages. We have finally redone our old ranked SG match pages with a fresh skin for the website as well. The match links are not yet available but here is a preview below:



- Clan Dueling Support. To my knowledge/understanding there is now an option to use /duel in a SG Lobby to duel another 5 man clan/party. The players on each team must be in a party with 5 players and only clan members. They can then duel another clan and have a match put together for them. A random map is chosen and the players are scattered in fair positions. There will be match history pages and statistics for clan duels as well available on the clan profiles as well. This is part of our 5v5 initiative to drive more competitive team based gaming in Minecraft.
- Disguised players at the start - By default everyone is disguised at the start of the game to prevent teaming/focusing before the game begins.
- Rating Resets available for purchase (soon) - We will allow you to reset your stats like you do in UHC/ArenaPvP for SG as well this season. Will be released in the next few days.
Conclusion
I have probably forgotten some other small features but I believe I hit the big ones. The main focus of SG 2.0 was to (1) Give it some quality of life updates (2) integrate clans and a clan leader board into it (3) build in teams of 2 support (4) make the games less stale/repetitive (5) allow players to play on teams together.
Teaming on FFA is now prohibited like it is in other game modes. Mods have permission to warn/punish players for violating this new constraint. We will add some warning messages into the plugins soon too to make people more aware of the rule changes.
We welcome any well thought out feedback below in this thread. The more details given the better :)
