So yeah, on the 14th of may this year I was GCheat banned TWICE while I wasn't even playing on badlion. Also no new matches were played on my account so it wasn't like someone else played on it from somewhere else, my account hadn't logged onto badlion for a couple of days but somehow it got 2 GCheat bans. Of course I appealed, Gberry looked at the logs and as expected nothing was found because 1) I do not hack 2) I wasn't even on the server, I was of course unbanned. However an explanation was never found on how I really got banned. Well today I think I found it and it might have affected a lot more people than just me.
So remember the bug where if you were banned you could still join ArenaPvP? Yeah one of my fans found a video of a guy that was abusing that bug and was going around in UHC FFA devastating everyone by hacking (

The video has been published kind of recently but from the lobby, the arenas and the fact that the elo system was still online you clearly understand that it was recorded a long time ago, more precisely it was recorded on the 14th of May as you can verify by going on the punishments page of the account "ProBossRo" that was infact GCheat banned on the 14th. So his nick appears to be ProBossRo as you can see in the chat however from 2:06 in the video the nickname becomes " Fyammah ". How the fuck did that happen. No IT'S NOT him using by account because 1) I have famous rank and at a certain point he writes something in chat and he has no rank 2) On my real account the nick is a spelled with a lowercased "f" and I have never ever changed the nickname (proof of this https://it.namemc.com/profile/fyammah/ba04110c ).
So basically I think he was still playing on his account " ProBossRo " but somehow due to a bug MY nickname got associated with his account (my nickname and only that) and when he got gcheat banned the ban spread on to my account since it had the same nick. This would explain how I got banned without having even played a single match and without being on the server for days.
Here comes the problem, I have famous rank and more or less I can get people to help me. What if the same thing happened to other people during the bypassing ban bug? What if someone abusing the bug got the nickname of some other innocent player that got banned without doing anything wrong and without being believed afterwards if tried to explain?
Also, how could it happen that another player gets the nickname of another account associated to theirs?
My guess is that maybe "ProBossRo" was in the list of the disguise nicknames and since I had famous and had access to the feature it could have happened that once he logged on again, the plugin recognised the nick as a disguise nick and tried to restore the "real" nickname. This is just a theory said with no knowledge at all, but this is a pretty big problem I think.
The fact that a random hacker could play with my nickname on (NOT on my account, with my nick) and could get me banned twice, could have almost destroied my reputation if it wasn't for GBerry that was extremly fast at checking logs and confirming that the bans were false.
I described the situation but as I said, I'm ignorant on the matter, good luck with trying to find out what the hell happened :D
