And don't give him shit about how this is just him wanting attention, because I know it seems like that, but he's going through a lot more troubles than is evident. He's trying to find a compromise rather than quitting entirely, because that's not an easy thing to do, especially with this kind of community.

Or just become a forum whore. I find it helps when quitting minecraft, I don't feel I want to play mc much, when the forums can be more interesting.
Note: If you want to actually quit, find something else to fill your free time with. It's all gokd intentions to say "I'm quitting" but there has to be something else you can do in your free time to replace Minecraft, or you return to it.
