With the growing needs of Badlion we are looking to bring someone onto our team that can help run the Systems Administration/DevOps on our growing network. We are specifically looking for someone to help us as we transition to a new setup in the next few weeks with our new server locations/infrastructure.

Job Description

The individual will be responsible for the entire infrastructure on Badlion. We need someone who is going to be on call to be able to jump on whenever something breaks that is beyond a standard developer's knowledge. Examples include a database crash, a kernel crash, etc. This individual will also be responsible for keeping security on Badlion up to date. Will be responsible for upgrading any software needed for the Badlion servers as well. It is essential that the individual is familiar with networking as well and he will be responsible for monitoring network traffic on Badlion.

This is a full time position (with benefits if located in the United States) with a yearly salary. This job's hours will vary. Sometimes it might be a very long week when new systems are being rolled out or software upgrades are being done. At other times there might be less work to handle due to it being a calm week. The applicant does not need to be located within the United States to apply for the position, but to take advantage of the benefits the employee will need to be located in the United States. The pay will be determined based on the applicant's qualifications, how much knowledge they have in the specific realms we care about.

Qualifications

Applicants when applying for this position should have the following qualifications as a minimum:

* 3+ Years of Linux Experience (5+ preferred)
* 2+ Years as a Systems Administrator for other servers/setups (3+ preferred)
* Knowledge of how Bukkit/Bungee systems are configured and operated
* Knowledge of Bash/Python
* Knowledge of networking tools such as netstat, nc, tcpdump, etc
* Experience with AWS (Amazon Cloud Services) and CentOS
* Be ready to jump on whenever shit hits the fan (be accessible 24/7 via phone/pager)

The following qualifications are an added bonus and will raise the chances of succeeding in the position:

* Knowledge of Puppet or other server deployment scripts
* Advanced Networking knowledge such as the TCP/IP Stack Frame
* Advanced IPTables knowledge and any other firewall applications
* Experience identifying and mitigating DDoS Attacks
* Being a team member
* Good communication skills
* Ready to get the job done no matter how hard or long it takes.
* A passion for Minecraft and to make the best competitive PvP Server ever.
