It helps but honestly to be a great player you dont need to jitter, focusing on aim is more important.

Because it matters far more in ladders like Build with high prot enchantments versus ladders like diamond and iron.

So in short, every time you click the opponent, it registers, and if you click once every tick, it takes all 9 hits and chooses the one with most damage to be applied? That makes an awful lot of sense, but at the same time it doesn't. Why would they select the one with the highest damage? Wouldn't it just overwrite the previous one so the first click could deal 3 hearts then the second would deal 2 and the 3 heart hit is overwritten so it deals 2 hearts? It sounds like a bit of a longshot imo.

I'm telling you that's literally how it works from the code. Minecraft takes the highest damage you inflict from every swing for the next nine ticks and uses that as the damage dealt.
