So ik that the rankings in s13 were all wrong as in Ur placement matches you could get diamond however that's not what i'm referring to. It used to be so that if you were on a winning streak and lost a freak match you wouldn't lose as many points. But for some unbeknown reason now if you lose a freak match you still lose 214 points so its basically just like elo used to be. I mean at this point it is literally a punishment for being a high rank as you can never get a match, then when you do you get +14, but if you lose a freak match you get drained 214 points.Just a suggestion as i can't really see any negatives to this and im not entirely sure why it was removed, but if some1 knows why it was removed then feel free to tell me :)

I want elo back… I liked MMR, but it takes me forever to get a match, even if I'm not even Emerald. The system is supposed to queue you up immediately after 20 seconds, but for some reason that dosent work. I also keep getting a bug that happens every once in a while that says queue dosent work, even though I'm still in queue. I have to requeue every time it happens…Posted on 04 November 2016 - 07:40 PM

tbh theres no difference to this from elo, only difference is that u can only lose a max of 20matches worth instead of 30, but it takes u 5x as long to get a match therefore it defeats the object lmao coz in unplayed ladders u never get matched w/ any1 ur own rank anyway

+1 I am always on like a 10 winning streak then I lose two matches and get drained more then I gainedPosted on 05 November 2016 - 03:53 AM
@GoodEnchant I meant to say requeue autocorrect is an assholePosted on 05 November 2016 - 12:29 PM
-1, the system would be broken due to the inflated MMRPosted on 05 November 2016 - 12:31 PM

Elo is in the past. Even though it was a good system, it eventually came to the point where is was basically all grinding and could be based on play time rather than skill level. Along with this, players have advanced to such a skill level where there is too much of a variety in skill levels for elo to be a good system anymore.

in what way would this system be broken?

He's saying that we can't change the way MMR works in the middle of S14, when everyone still has their respective MMRs. For example, say you are in the middle of S12, with the old elo system. Someone decides to change the system, and make the max points you can gain 16, and the least points you can gain, 1. The people on the leaderboards who grinded out high elos would suddenly become twice (ish) as hard to topple.Maybe S15 ;p

?????You get drained half as much as you do with elo. If we treat 14 mmr as 1 elo (the low end of the conversion) then the upper end of the conversion is the 214 & 32 number. 32/1= 32 (as in winning matches against low rank players to refill a loss against a low rank player), 214/14 = 15.28. Season 14 literally makes it twice as hard for noobs and twice as easy for good players, why are you upset?

im not upset about it, however this system has the same flaws as elo did, and yes u might lose half the rating, but u have to wait 5x as long in order to get a match so it really hasnt solved anything imo

it kinda does have to do with the rating system because if it wasnt different we wouldnt have the issue of losing freak matches and getting drained. Im not saying if ur on a 10winstreak u should lose only 1/2 the points if u lose because thats ridiculous, however lets say im on a 50win streak in no debuff and then i lose 1 freak match (due to any reason e.g crashing or just a error on my part) imo u should lose less points than 214 due to your streak, then once you've lost your streak gets reset
