If you try this, holding w and S down at the same time you won't move. Also does it have any benefits?

if you use togglesprint and have the option where you automatically sprint when you hold w, you will move forward when you hold down s as well. the sprint action overrides the slower action of walking backwards.
if you don't use togglesprint, someone's going to have to try this out, because I'm certain you don't just stand still when both keys are held down. pretty sure it takes the last key you pressed (if you press w and then s, you will move backwards)

So is this pointless or does it benefit?

s tapping is pointless don't bother learning itPosted on 09 November 2016 - 04:03 PM
Just w tap, s tapping is completely pointless and a waste of time to learnPosted on 09 November 2016 - 04:12 PM

useless, might as well just do a normal w tap. staps are only helpful if u let go of w and press s. basically the point of it is to make sure you dont get too close to the person ur comboing because they might be able to break ur combo but there are other ways that you can slow urself down like block hitting or strafing

Before I explain anything else, I'll quickly explain that the first hit you get after resetting your sprint (letting go of w), the opponent takes significantly more kb. If the opponent takes more kb, combos are easier to sustain. S tapping is one of the less popular methods of achieving this, though that's not the reason players s tap. Some other more popular methods of resetting your sprint in between hits is w tapping and blockhitting (blocking resets your sprint too). The main purpose of s tapping is to distance yourself from the opponent in midst combos. And yes, you do let go of w while pressing s, anyone who tells you otherwise doesn't know what they're talking about. Holding down w and s at the same time is essentially the same as standing still. If you're just starting out, I'd suggest practicing other strafes before playing around with s tapping, as it does take a bit of game sense to know when and when not to do. Just as every other strafe, avoid just spamming w and s consecutively, it won't work. From personal experience, s tapping against players with delayed kb is useless. In conclusion, w tapping and block hitting in general are a lot more important, s tap from time to time to help sustain combos.Posted on 09 November 2016 - 09:55 PM

every kid in this video i could beat playing with my feet and have my eyes blind folded. s tapping is by far the easiest 8 blocking method to be countered. When you are in the backing up motion its so simple to negate the s tappers knockback and get them into a combo lock. i mean it probs would of happened but those kids didnt even have there crosshair near them while u were running in a straight line
