They are able to get a list of emails from some website, then run it through a program similar to eggcracker, except faster (obviously)Just make your password have as many special characters in it, I have a list of alts and none had passwords with any special characters in.
Also, don't use passwords that can be guessed easily (like your pets name and a few numbers after it.)

If you can memorize your password, terrible password. Try to make something 16 characters or over and randomized. Make sure to include ! @ # % _ / . ( ) etc… along with randomized caps and numbers mixed in and you'll be pretty much good.Alot of people use bruteforcers when trying to breach accounts, I wont say to much on this since i dont really know much about them or how they really work, but i think they only scan the English alphabet and symbols and numbers? I could be wrong about that though, but another good thing to do for your password is to add foreign letters and symbols such as Russian or Chinese.
Password example: %zoIdUD@aH*3你f5dE(@_&hu2s8wдj0.03gL
If you're extra worried or paranoid, you can make all your security questions passwords like the above aswell xd
