This thread https://www.badlion.net/forum/thread/145023 made me want to do this thread and the answers he got were pretty helpful and I wanted good answers too.

That build looks decent, what are you planning to use it for?

Mainly gaming but probably some recording and maybe streaming (hence the i7)

I changed the ram down to 8 gigs which I will upgrade later.

@Vaxd
The reason I have a bit lower end gpu so that I could spend more on the cpu and I'm planning on upgrading it later anyways.
The reason I have the EVGA power supply is that I wanted it to be modular so I can change cables around.
And the reason I have a full ATX mobo and case is that this is my first time building and I wanted as much room as I could get but if you think micro ATX isnt a big deal then I could change it to save a bit of cash.

I'm not actually sure how much of a difference it would make in difficulty building with a micro ATX vs ATX mobo so that's really just up to you especially since it's just $10 but I believe the 200r would be sufficient in size https://youtu.be/8gpYX3mZ3eQ?t=4m52s as seen here.

Thanks for all the tips! I'll definitely think about it.

1050 is pretty bad

why are you spending 3 times more on a cpu than on a graphics card LOOL

Because im not going to be doing much graphics intensive :/ idk

you shouldnt go with an i7 and a gtx 1050, i would much rather get an i5 and a gtx 1060/1070 because a 1050 isnt as good, especially with only 2gb

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the graphics card will cap the cpu

If you don't plan to do a whole lot of graphically intensive stuff then I recommend getting the 1050ti over the 1050 https://youtu.be/2FanX70_CRE Although if you plan to stream and record like you mentioned earlier a 1050/1050 ti might not be the best for that.

Also, do you plan to overclock your cpu?

A 1050 won't "bottleneck" the i7

@Vaxd Thanks for all the advice its been really helpful! I think I will go down to an i5 and get a better gpu. And yes I will most likely be overclocking.
