When you are running to meet your opponent, strafe one way, then right before the first hit, s tap and strafe the other direction. Try to make the change in movement as abrupt and large as possible to throw off the opponent.

I do that a lot :p

I try and make sure I have enough distance between me and my opponent when I s tap. Before we trade hits, but not so far back that the opponent has a chance to regauge my movement. It's a quick one, and I do it because I feel that it helps me switch directions faster. Plus, it changes your movement pattern just a bit.

In other words, I'm not moving backwards when we trade hits.

Then again I'm just a silver noob so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

s tap is for maintaining a combo not starting a combo xd

But could it be used for starting a combo? It changes your movement from the "standard strafe" that everyone is used to, I would think that helps in throwing off an unexperienced (me) opponent.

its literally backing up which stops your forward velocity and the flow of your knockback would now be doubled from your velocity going the opposite way that you would be attempting to combo into. in a nutshell if u bak up wen they hit u with a sword u will be fukd!
