the only reason this guy uses to prove elo is better than mmr is

"good people like elo because it looks cool" and "bad people like mmr" which is bullshit.

he wants to boasts so much about how good he thinks he is so he can "validate" his opinion when in reality he's talking a bunch of bullshit. im trying to say elo isnt better but he brings up some stupid match in the past or something to tell me he's better or some shit so he can say elo is better which makes zero sense

people arent understanding that if he's helping to skew the average opinion of the community in the wrong direction by trying to say he's a good player when he's not, im gonna tell him he's not a good player.

Verillium, you are honestly stupid as fuck and one of the largest mouths who thinks he's right when you are just spewing bullshit to make yourself look smart when you literally have zero facts and nothing but assumptions. Don't speak for the "competitive" community when the only thing you have claim to is being a good 1v1 player, mostly in Archer-related ladders + Build. I've never seen you near the top of a tournament that I can remember, and that's where the REAL competition is.

If something allows players to get to the rank where they belong faster, it's more accurate. KB is the same across all servers (all speed2 servers have one KB, and all non-speed servers have the same - CTF, UHC, Build, SG, all the same KB values.). It is easier to get to the top, but yet it's just as easy to drain a top player and boost yourself off of them if you are better then them due to matchmaking.

Also, how the fuck can you say it's less accurate when you know nothing. When we ran S12 matches through the MMR formulas, the top 25 was almost the exact same order as it was in ELO in every single ladder, which means more or less, it placed people exactly the same. Holy fucking shit now that's facts, not just random bullshit spewed to make my point look stronger then yours. Lastly and barely relevant, hacklite's total play count is very close to the average of top 5 globals from past full seasons.

And yes, in games like SC2 (owned by blizzard) I've played games with bronze/silvers when I was masters - it does happen but it's very less likely due to them having such a larger pool of players and the players there aren't entitled assholes like you who get hurt when they have to wait 30+ seconds for a match. I wait anywhere from 5 minutes to 20 for a fucking heroes match at high level, and god forbid we do anything over 30 seconds here.

Open is also no longer the location of the highest competition, it's for casual/semi competitive players to come and grow on, and when they want to play at high competition level, they can play on premium. We've been transitioning this for a while, because quite frankly, 20 tps servers and poorly programmed MC client are the main limiting factors for real competition. I'm also not going to have ELO in 1v1 (especially when it's worse), and MMR everywhere else.

And to be honest, I'm probably just going to ban you if I have to waste more time with you because I'm pretty sure this is the second time you've reached this level of stupidity in recent times, and it looks like you are well on your way to your third - and if I ban you, it's going to be an exile which means no premium either. Between your attitude on the server, forums, and social media - you are literally the definition of everything that is wrong with the worst part of the community on this server, and that keeps more players from playing BL then anything Gberry or I could ever do.
