Bad Sportsmanship Abound: Timid Mods Flounder on Mutes!
Last edited on 04 January 2017 - 10:11 PM by RegalRat

Good evening, Badlion community and community managers!
This is an update from the top clan and server saints Top Dogs.
I'll cut right to the chase… We have a BONE to pick with Badlion staff! And we expect you to play fetch with us.
Now, don't get your panties in a bunch just yet! If you are unfamiliar (highly unlikely) with top clan Top Dogs, it's time you get to know us a bit.
Tallying over 400 mutes and bans, Top Dogs stands as the pinnacle of good sportsmanship, outperforming some of the lesser mods on the network. We liven up the forums with each post, putting us on par with the competence and importance of community managers. We don't let bad sports speak to tell the tale. And with that, we'd call ourselves master good sports and bad sportsmanship police. But in the past few weeks, we've been having some discrepancies with top moderators like Jpalm.

Let's get down to business and talk about mutes and what to mute for. That means no dilly dallying–only top mods and admins who can give us a clear-cut response to this should answer!
1.) Is it true that "l" is not mutable in its lowercase form, but only uppercase "L" is punishable? Does this also imply that "ez" is a A-OK and "EZ" is a no go? Does the lack of holding down shift make you less of a sport? If so, we'll add it to our Top Dogs's manual on good sportsmanship–even the best of us have some things to learn (not a lot to learn like some BL flatfoots).
2.) The meaning of "L" (uppercase form, of course) is "loss." But let's take a step back. When you say "L," you're telling your recently defeated foe that you've won and that they've lost. And according to bad sportsmanship lore, that's a punishable offense! But when you say, "You lost, pal," it's completely fine! Now, skip the monkey business and gimme the cold, hard facts about this matter. We TopDogs don't give two ruffs about the BL bureaucracy–we just gotta know so we can save the day like always!
3.) My third inquiry is about the use of "bad." Now, wise McNerdx, top admin of the BL network, made it very clear that saying, "You're bad," is on the naughty list. But recently in a TopDog report, one of our enemies called me "lordbad." And can you guess what happened? The scoundrel got let off the hook. If you ask me, it was rude and completely untrue and frankly a prime example of being a bad sport.
Why is it that "you're bad" is a no-no, but calling me a NAME and saying I'm bad at the same time is hunky dory?!
4.) A recent report we made had a foe say "gg team ez." NO MUTE! I guess if you say "gg" and tack on an "ez" at the end, they cancel each other out and make it plain old "sportsmanship" (not good or bad). If we follow suit with this trend, we're going to have BL bad sports tacking on a couple gg's just to get out of an "l ez." Oh, wait, sorry–"L ez." That means that "gg gg L ez" is something good sport-in-chief Archybot would say! Are we sure about that?
—————————————————————————————————————————-
Let's make it clear. We're NOT being sarcastic here. TopDogs has ONLY the best interests of the Badlion community in our big brains, so don't think we're up to no good.
We just want some good, old-fashioned consistency and common sense when it comes to Badlion mutes!
Now, now, I'm sure that most of the Badlion administration is busy tweaking the god send known as BL Premium, but let's take a moment to go back to our roots and make sure that we're all good sports!
Yours truly,
TopDogs
Note: I do not own McGruff the Crime Dog!

"L" is now being used more as a sign of disrespect to other players than it is being used to say "You lost, pal."
Back when I was much younger, I remember kids using the term "HA LOSER!" as an insult to other kids while holding out their hands in front of their faces forming an L with their fingers. So yeah, I guess that is why "L" is mutable.
"l" isn't mutable because it's a baby "L" and it's doesn't hurt as much, I guess lol
