Is it more effective to shoot fully charged arrows in short range rather than just bow spamming?

In iron and UHC it's nearly always essential to charge your arrows up to a decent amount, because you have a limited number of arrows and you need to do as much damage as possible with them, if they're short-ish range then maybe you could spam a couple of arrows to push them back a bit or even try to melee them, but it's better to charge them up a lot if you know you can land a shot without getting melee rushed

In iron, from what i remember, it's crucial to full-charge your arrows. A medium charge arrow would do a third of a full charged one.
