Technically thats false if I queue'd Emeralds and Diamonds only I'd easily get there in under 50 matches

Actually the more skill in a ladder, the higher the skill cap, meaning perfect ratios are more likely. It's much harder to get a perfect ratio in something like Iron (where you die in 8 hits) than Vanilla or Build, where the best players have mastered a huge range of skills.
