Making Badlion's Rating System Similar to Overwatch
Overwatch has ranks similar to Badlion's (Plat, Diamond, Master, etc) but they also have a number alongside it, which gives the same vibe as ELO.

The rank itself can give players a general idea of someone's skill level, like the current MMR system on Badlion. The number rating can give players a more specific idea of how good someone is, while also appeasing players that preferred ELO. If you combine them together you can create a rating system that everyone likes.

if this would make the community shut up, then ive lost even more faith for the community. it would literally just be an mmr to elo converter right alongside your mmr rank (which is no different than what it is now, and everyone says that your supposed elo doesnt match what it would have if it were actually elo)

The number doesn't necessarily have to be ELO. Either way, a number is more exact, and it's more satisfying to go on a win streak and see your number increase after every match. It has all the pros of ELO, and all the Pros of MMR together.

but isnt that what the 1000/1000 is for? to have an exact number? and the numbers mean less so it's even more exact than elo

Do people not understand what Elo was for and why it is flawed with this size of a community?

I don't think the 1000/1000 means that much to many people. There's not much of a difference between say an Emerald 3 900 and an Emerald 3 100. Not to mention you can't see it in game when you queue an opponent.

fair enough, but i dont think it really matters as long as you can see how far away you are from people on the leaderboards. like, yea sure, you might be able to see the exact elo of someone else, but if i have 2100 elo and someone else has 2110 elo, does that really mean they're better? not really, i could easily pass them, or they could easily rocket even higher above me.

Yeah I agree with you in that regard. It doesn't really change anything in terms of displaying someone's skill level, but it prevents people from complaining, and it makes your rank less vague. It would mainly be an aesthetic change to bring back the old vibe that ELO had in order to appease the people who hate MMR.

I don't see how people can hate the current MMR system. It basically is ELO, but you lose less points than with elo.

I mean make your own numbers. Each medal tier is 5000 points, so that means Silver II 500 points would be 8500. (5k from bronze V-I, 3k from Silver V-III, and 500 from Silver II)

That's why we have divisions V-I and points
