Badlion Premium (Mac Users + UHC)
Posted on 11 January 2017 - 12:51 AM
As many of you know, Badlion Premium for Mac is not going to be released on the same date as it is for Windows. After what I have read / researched, I have found out that this is due to the anti-cheat and the coding.
This basically overall lead many to some questions which overall raised my curiosity on some of it.
(Also if you are wondering, I am a Mac user.)
Basically these are some of the questions I have felt I couldn't find:
- If you were to code a anti cheat for Mac, at the LATEST, when could you release it?
- Since Premium is coded from the original Minecraft (from what I saw) what causes complications that will cause a huge delay for us to play? (I understand the anti-cheat, but I don't think that would take much longer to do)
- Will Mac Users be able to use the Badlion Client at all? Haven't really found anything on this (tweets and etc)
PS: Feel free to put your own questions in the comments of the thread.
Alright! I know most of you aren't Mac users so I'm going to continue this thread that will probably apply to more of you.
From what I've read, UHC is not really heavily mentioned in Badlion Premium. The little info I read was that basically there will be a UHC every once in a while that will be for money and some time of UHC League.
I think that Premium is gonna be Arena Based, but I'm really curious on the intent of UHC in all of the matter.
Questions about UHC:
- Will the League (or whatever it is) games be hosted at the same rate as the Open games?
- How much money do you intend on giving players in these cash UHCs.?
- Will UHC be part of the ESport you guys are making with ESL?
Again, feel free to add your own questions and to give each other feedback.

I use a Mac as well, and I just have a Bootcamp partition set up for a few games, which has served me well.
It is using proprietary software developed by ESEA which literally goes into your computer on a CPU level, which means porting it to Mac would be a coding nightmare and would be a full job for ESL; Badlion simply cannot do that. It's not worth it due to the much smaller Mac playerbase and would legitimately cost millions.
