That is what I am doing. I'm god awful at pot right now so my next step is definitely getting my pot kits to emerald. I read somewhere on this forum that a good pot player can easily get emerald on build but a good build player can't do the same for pot, and I decided that the best way to be the best is to learn to pot. Ya know, you can't really create advantages so easily like in build, where you have so many tools in you're arsenal. NoDebuff is just pot and sword. You really become forced to learn how to properly w tap and strafe which is invaluable if I am ever thinking of becoming really good.

That's so true man. Whoever told you that was not lying. If you're a pot player coming to build, it's not too hard and the skill difference is not too crazy, but if you're a build player new to pot it's really hard to get good at. This is all mainly because build doesn't really require too good of aim, but pot requires really good aim to be considered good. If your aim is bad in build then you can just bowspam or rodspam etc. Honestly the only "sweaty" thing you can do in pot is play agro which is not really even that sweaty lol.

Don't only play pot now, remember what your knowledge source hivlik said, don't only master ability x and ignore all others now ;)

I went from Gold 2 to Emerald 1 in like 4 months xd (check s13 stats)Posted on 15 January 2017 - 03:52 PM
Genuinely curious, why do some players become better faster than others? I've played over 3000 build uhc matches and I'm stuck at gold 4 lmaoLast edited on 15 January 2017 - 06:40 PM by McFlops

I would call it the x factor and it works for everything in your life. The formula is how hard you try on a regular basis × how consistent you are at such thing (dedication) * overall understanding of x and you're weaknesses and focusing on them in x.
If you play every two days, you will inherently be playing at a lower level than you are capable of and won't improve as fast as someone playing every day because you learn more when you play with better people.
If you queue up build uhc and don't care about winning and have a bad mindset such as "fucking bowspammers, L" instead of "how do I play against this best?" Then you will be limited drastically
If you queue up and you try and have a good mindset but you are still unconsciously incompetent then it becomes very hard to improve if you can't admit it yourself and thus don't know your weaknesses.
There are more factors involved but generally if anyone learns something faster than another person this is why.

That is if I want to be the best at nodebuff, for now I just want to get out of shitter level silver 1. Specialization is actually a good idea IMO early on, but later as I get better I will play more and more vanilla and debuff and others to relax. I have to say though I don't know how much this argument holds up in something like pot in general, it's very straightforward . Something like build that is both very fluid in playstyle and execution as well as having many different variables, unlike pot.
