New Arena Maps

In the past, Badlion had (in my opinion) some of the best maps for pvp in minecraft. However, now if it isn't buildUHC, all of the maps are just flat with no real structure to them.Point 1: Why is buildUHC so popular? Likely because of how much it resembles an actual uhc/survival scenario. You're going to have lava and water buckets, rod, bow with limited arrows, etc. And the maps are pilled with terrain, small hills or sand dunes, trees that you need to work around, build off of, kite and lava behind. There is SO MUCH outplay potential in that kit. I think all of the kits should have this, particularly potpvp.
Point 2: Most if not all pot pvp kits are just flat land with glass on the walls/ceiling. There is 0 room for outplay; basically whoever gets the most combos wins. If there were trees to kite/strafe around, hills to debuff off of or jump from to crit, or even cacti to play around and lower your opponents durability, there would be a much higher skill cap for players who could work around those obstacles. Also, people play kit pvp to practice. Play build to practice for actual UHCs. So if pot pvp players likely practice for HCF, why not make them real hcf scenarios? There won't always be flat nothingness to rely on in fights.
These are my thoughts, let me know what you think. If you are a potpvper, would you be for or against this? UHC community, would you play more, less or the same amount of potion if this was the case? I'm interested in the community's response to this.
Thanks for reading.

Very well written, I as well agree with this post. +1Posted on 23 January 2017 - 06:24 PM
Hcf scenario would be much more difficult because of things like traps and bases etc. +1Last edited on 23 January 2017 - 09:58 PM by UVpickles
Yeah, most uhc kits usually have natural terrain in them, but keeping the maps flat arguably reduces the length of matches, so people are happier and waste less time on maps that are flat. Also, terrain is usually advantageous for a specific player in certain situations. So, making natural terrain would make the rating system less accurate because the terrain could decide certain fights to favor someone who may or may not have the skill to have beaten the other player and rank up that way. A good idea, but it would ruin a certain aspect of competition in pot pvp.-1
