There are plenty of people who do say gg and gf. It's just compared to the rest of the server's players, it's a very small amount. People usually can't be bothered to be a good sport, and that's why a lot of people don't do it. If people had incentive to, they would do it (sad but true). I mean, look at what Hypixel did. They added a point system (karma) that does absolutely nothing. It essentially "rewards" you for being a good sport.

I'm like 99% sure this is wrong. Everytime I've payed attention, me and my opponent have always ended up in the same chat lobby.

That's a good system to be honest, it creates a better community bond, and therefore player retention. Quite sensible

I always say gg in global chat but to be honest right now by pming someone gg or gf when you win it would probably appear to them as if you are trying to aggravate them and be a duche.

yeah, but you can still say it when you lose too. I've found if you say gl before everygame, and msg them gg when you lose, then the next time you play and YOU win, they end up saying GG as well (although some of them tell you to kys lol)
