MMR to Elo Conversion Chart (Theory)
DISCLAMER: I understand how MMR doesn't work quite the same way as ELO does. THIS IS A THEORY, NOTHING OFFICIAL. But if you're like me, and you're still confused by the ranking system, then this post may help you. I'm not saying that the MMR system is bad; I'm just trying to help those who don't understand this system, and to also help those to estimate what somebody's ELO would be in case they wanted to know. With that in mind, I hope you guys enjoy this conversion chart. ^-^

Ever since Badlion released their MMR ranking system, I've been very confused by what rank means what skill. To fix that, I've devised a chart for me to refer to, and I have decided to share it with everybody, so hopefully you guys understand this system a bit better. So the first thing that I did was estimate what skill goes with what rank, so I can use math to figure out the other ranks.

By they way I remember facing 1400's, and facing Silver V's, I think that those 2 have around the same amount of skill.
The same can be said for when I remember facing 2000's, and when I face Emerald V's today. They seem to play in a similar way, and also tend to have the same amount of skill. After figuring out that Silver V and Gold V were around 300 ELO apart, I found out that each rank (i.e., Bronze, Diamond, Masters) is about 300 ELO apart from each other as well. I made a chart of where each specific "V" rank sits at in terms of ELO rating.

I believe that this is how the ELO would correspond with the ranking based upon skill level:

Bronze V = 1100
Silver V = 1400
Gold V = 1700
Emerald V = 2000
Diamond V = 2300
Masters = 2600

After writing those down, I had to figure out how much ELO is there per division (i.e., V, IV, III, II, I), so that I could then break down this chart further. Since there is 300 ELO per Rank, and there are 5 divisions per rank, that means we can figure out how much each division is by using simple math (300 / 5 = 60 ELO). This means that for every division in a rank, there are 60 ELO points away from each other (provided that both of the ratings are at 0 MMR points).

Here is my devised chart of the MMR medal ratings to ELO ratings: (This is also when the ranks are at 0 MMR.)

Bronze V = 1100
Bronze IV = 1160
Bronze III = 1220
Bronze II = 1280
Bronze I = 1340

Silver V = 1400
Silver IV = 1460
Silver III = 1520
Silver II = 1580
Silver I = 1640

Gold V = 1700
Gold IV = 1760
Gold III = 1820
Gold II = 1880
Gold I = 1940

Emerald V = 2000
Emerald IV = 2060
Emerald III = 2120
Emerald II = 2180
Emerald I = 2240

Diamond V = 2300
Diamond IV = 2360
Diamond III = 2420
Diamond II = 2480
Diamond I = 2540

(Yes, I know Masters doesn't have a division, but bear with me.)
Masters V = 2600
Masters IV = 2660
Masters III = 2720
Masters II = 2780
Masters I = 2840
Masters 0 = 2900

But we can break down this chart even further. Within each division are the actual MMR points, which are ranked between 0 and 1000 MMR points. Since there are 60 ELO points per division, and 1000 MMR points per division, that means that 1 ELO rating is the same as 16.66666 MMR points.

After doing some very intense math (not really), I made a full chart of what every 100 ELO rating would be equivalent to:

1000 = Bronze V (-1666/1000)
1100 = Bronze V (0/1000)
1200 = Bronze IV (666/1000)
1300 = Bronze II (333/1000)
1400 = Silver V (0/1000) <—- Starting Point
1500 = Silver IV (666/1000)
1600 = Silver II (333/1000)
1700 = Gold V (0/1000)
1800 = Gold IV (666/1000)
1900 = Gold II (333/1000)
2000 = Emerald V (0/1000) <—- 2k ELO
2100 = Emerald IV (666/1000)
2200 = Emerald II (333/1000)
2300 = Diamond V (0/1000)
2400 = Diamond IV (666/1000)
2500 = Diamond II (333/1000)
2600 = Masters (0/1000) <—- Masters
2700 = Masters (1667/1000)
2800 = Masters (3333/1000)
2900 = Masters (5000/1000)
3000 = Masters (6667/1000)

So, if you wanted to figure out, theoretically, how much ELO you have, then all you have to do is put your rating on this chart, and convert the remaining MMR points to ELO to figure out the EXACT ELO rating.

Example:

Say I was Emerald III with 249 MMR points. I would start at Emerald III with 0 MMR points, which is 2120 ELO points, respectively. I still have 249 MMR to go, so I would then divide 249 by 16.66666, and I would then come up with around 15 ELO points. Adding 2120 to 15 means that my ELO rating would be 2135.

One last question I would like to answer is "How much ELO did I lose if I lost 214 MMR in a fight?"

Since we know that 1 ELO is the same as 16.66666 MMR, we can use math to then figure out that 214 MMR is the same as 12.84 ELO (You could round it up to 13).

Hopefully this answers any questions you guys have about the rating system! Thanks for reading. :)

1400 = Silver 2 I'm quite sure

@Kikzo Like I said, this was purely a theory, and from my personal experience of fighting many people on Badlion since Season 8. (I know you probably do have more experience since you obviously have WAY better rating than me.)

2700 elo is closer to masters 0/1000

and it takes me more than 13 games to get 214 elo back if i lose in nodebuff

Silver is the 2 is the equivalent of 1400, since silver 2 is the starting point.

Huh I guess I'll make an updated version of this later then.

Most people just think of em5/4 to be 2k, and that's the only one that actually matters since back then you had to be at least 2k to be considered decent.

Idk about this. If gold IV is 1760 in elo. It just doesn't sound right bc it was a real struggle for me to get 1760 global in s11 and this season i got it on 2 accounts with little to no effort.

@Robiswell I made an updated version that's more accurate: https://www.badlion.net/forum/thread/160382
