MMR to Elo Conversion Chart (Updated)
*This is the updated version. Because I have been hearing a lot of feedback from the commenters on my previous post, I have decided to re-look over my chart, and revise it. I took many things into consideration, such as the fact that you start at Silver II rating, and that Masters 0/1000 is around the 2700 ELO mark.*

DISCLAMER: I understand how MMR doesn't work quite the same way as ELO does. THIS IS A THEORY, NOTHING OFFICIAL. But if you're like me, and you're still confused by the ranking system, then this post may help you. I'm not saying that the MMR system is bad; I'm just trying to help those who don't understand this system, and to also help those to estimate what somebody's ELO would be in case they wanted to know. With that in mind, I hope you guys enjoy this conversion chart. ^-^

Ever since Badlion released their MMR ranking system, I've been very confused by what rank means what skill. To fix that, I've devised a chart for me to refer to, and I have decided to share it with everybody, so hopefully you guys understand this system a bit better. So the first thing that I did was estimate what skill goes with what rank, so I can use math to figure out the other ranks.

Your rating starts at Silver II as of Season 14. Before season 13, you started off with 1400 ELO. Because these are both the "starting points" for rating, I will assume that those two are the same value. Whenever I fought 2000's, it appears that they tend to fight in a similar way and skill level as Emerald IV players, so I believe that those ratings are about the same.

After figuring out that Silver II and Emerald IV were around 600 ELO apart, I then counted the amount of MMR difference there was. There is a 8000 MMR difference between those 2 ratings. After using simple math (8000 / 600 = 13.3333), I figured out that 1 ELO rating is the same as 13.3333 MMR rating. I also found there was 75 ELO points between each individual MMR rank.

After using more math, I made a chart figuring out how much ELO each MMR medal rating sits at (when it's at 0 MMR rating).

Bronze V = 800
Bronze IV = 875
Bronze III = 950
Bronze II = 1025
Bronze I = 1100

Silver V = 1175
Silver IV = 1250
Silver III = 1325
Silver II = 1400
Silver I = 1475

Gold V = 1550
Gold IV = 1625
Gold III = 1700
Gold II = 1775
Gold I = 1850

Emerald V = 1925
Emerald IV = 2000
Emerald III = 2075
Emerald II = 2150
Emerald I = 2225

Diamond V = 2300
Diamond IV = 2375
Diamond III = 2450
Diamond II = 2525
Diamond I = 2600

Masters 0/1000 = 2675
Masters 1000/1000 = 2750
Masters 2000/1000 = 2825
Masters 3000/1000 = 2900
Masters 4000/1000 = 2975
Masters 5000/1000 = 3050

But we can break down this chart even further. Within each division are the actual MMR points, which are ranked between 0 and 1000 MMR points. Since there are 75 ELO points per division, and 1000 MMR points per division, that means that 100 ELO rating is the same as 1333.33 MMR points.

After doing some very intense math (not really), I made a full chart of what every 100 ELO rating would be equivalent to:

800 = Bronze V (0 MMR)
900 = Bronze IV (333 MMR)
1000 = Bronze III (667 MMR)
1100 = Bronze I (0 MMR)
1200 = Silver V (333 MMR)
1300 = Silver IV (667 MMR)
1400 = Silver II (0 MMR) <— Starting Point (1400 Elo)
1500 = Silver I (333 MMR)
1600 = Gold V (667 MMR)
1700 = Gold III (0 MMR)
1800 = Gold II (333 MMR)
1900 = Gold I (667 MMR)
2000 = Emerald IV (0 MMR) <—– 2k Elos
2100 = Emerald III (333 MMR)
2200 = Emerald II (667 MMR)
2300 = Diamond V (0 MMR)
2400 = Diamond IV (333 MMR)
2500 = Diamond III (667 MMR)
2600 = Diamond I (0 MMR)
2700 = Masters (333/1000 MMR)
2800 = Masters (1667/1000 MMR)
2900 = Masters (3000/1000 MMR)
3000 = Masters (4333/1000 MMR)

So, if you wanted to figure out, theoretically, how much ELO you have, then all you have to do is put your rating on this chart, and convert the remaining MMR points to ELO to figure out the EXACT ELO rating.

Example:

Say I was Emerald III with 249 MMR points. I would start at Emerald III with 0 MMR points, which is 2075 ELO points, respectively. I still have 249 MMR to go, so I would then divide 249 by 13.3333, and I would then come up with around 19 ELO points. Adding 2075 to 19 means that my ELO rating would be 2094.

One last question I would like to answer is "How much ELO did I lose if I lost 214 MMR in a fight?"

Since we know that 1 ELO is the same as 13.3333 MMR, we can use math to then figure out that 214 MMR is the same as 16 ELO.

Hopefully this answers any questions you guys have about the rating system! Thanks for reading. :)

does this apply to all ladders or just build?

A lot of effort has gone into this and it is fairly accurate. Therefore nice job

I figured this would be another one of those terrible bullshit conversion threads but this actually looks really accurate if you think about it in terms of all kits and not just the build conversions. Nicely done!

@chithigun23 This applies to all ladders. There is no correlation between kit and ranking.

shoutouts to all the bronze V's with 800 elo

I really like the chart, I think its really accurate (At least in my case).
But Season 13/14 not only changed the way the rating work but also the matchmaking (How do you get against and how your points change when winning/losing). So I believe, not to offend any Masters out there, that its more easy to get Masters (or any superduper high rank) now than it was getting 2800 elo back on season 12.

Or at least it seems that way by looking at the amount of masters on buildUHC, Or the fact that there are 12 Masters on Archer, and in season 12 the top Archer was Doe with 2413 elo (Which is now masters)

i guess i have over 3100 elo lol

No, it's not.

I'd just like to point out there is no exact conversion system as MMR is an inflation system when ELO has no inflation. Also MMR slowly expands while ELO only expands by throwing more players into it.

Not accurate, it isnt possible to convert mmr to elo

This is not right at all. Masters is 2500 so -50 on all.

Made this thread three months ago then gave up because it's stupid to try and convert: https://www.badlion.net/forum/thread/141734

@tjerkik you're pulling that number out of your ass
