Is it possible to eliminate ping ?

Couple hours ago someone posted about minecraft Olympic that happenes every year to make badlion more of an esports but the only issue that have been mentioned many times is ping is big issue for laggy players , so I'm asking is it possible to eliminate ping from minecraft ?Meaning instead of having cps,aim,ping as the major rules of pvp , making people take the same kb and same hit regstion as every other player .
Basically editing the game it self to make this Olympics work ?
