Perhaps adding a "report" button for threads/posts so that staff members could tagged/notified. It could include options as to why you're reporting it, such as "Inappropriate" or "Lock". This would hopefully make it easier for staff members to find threads/posts that need to be locked/deleted/edited so that people won't get away with breaking the rules on the forums as much.

As for staff members, perhaps just adding an option to either receive, or not receive, notifications from these reports would be ideal, so that people who want to deal with forum moderation can, and those who don't don't have to.

It's just a thought, let me know what you think. I'm completely willing to change what I have to say about this.

Not too bad of an idea. It may not be a top priority for the development team, but I think this could have benefits if not abused.
